Highly recommend this property!! Service was outstanding and friendly. From Monica meeting us at the train to the restaurant it was fabulous. Had an amazing massage from Sylvia overlooking the river. I admit I am a hotel snob and they exceeded my expectations.
It was adequate but the value was super low for what you receive. Some staff were absolutely amazing— warm, kind, and helpful; but others were super transactional and not welcoming. Room and especially bathroom were more 2 or 3 star level.
Just came back from a memorable trip to Machu Pichu (MP). Some of the many reasons to stay Casa del Sol Machu Picchu -
1. Alcides reached out to us via WhatsApp before the trip and inquired about our plans. He connected us with a guide who was very knowledgeable about MP and spoke English fluently. The guide met us in the evening before our trip to make a proper plan, maximize our ticket circuit and how to reduce waiting times when going up and coming down. Bus waiting times can be long since there are 6,000 daily visitors.
2. Alcides sent a team member to the train station to receive us and help with our bags. A team member took our bags and guided us to our train when we left MP.
3. The hotel location is very convenient. It is walking distance to the train station and the embarkation point for buses going to MP. It is near the town square and many restaurants.
4. We had a late minute addition to our group. Alcides went out of his way to upgrade our room with an extra bed and did not charge us any extra fees.
5. Beautiful hotel, great food and excellent hospitality. Another example of the heart warming hospitality from the Incan culture.
6. Rooms have a beautiful view of the Urubamba river and the Andes. Hotel has an outdoor eating area where one can site by the river and enjoy Andean nature.
Alsides - Muchas Gracias!
The river view room was beautiful. Some aspects of the property need some upgrading and maintenance but I think that’s fairly normal for the hotels in Aguas Calientes.
The staff and service was fantastic, I had a great stay.
We were glad that we chose this hotel for our stay in Aqua Caliente. Staffs were so nice. Hotel was very clean with a gorgeous view. It was just a perfect hotel for us to get some rest during our long trip!
The staff was excellent and the bar was lively and served a nice menu. The accommodations were clean and comfortable and very close to the transportation to Machu Picchu. The market is close by and so are numerous restaurants!

Beautiful rooms clean but breakfast very limited. Unfortunately the napkins were dirty, and coffee is watered down. Location is very good though
Very closed hotel from arrival station . Super friendly staff , and always willing to help . It’s not a 5 start but really nice with good restaurant and a great river view. They made arrangement to celebrate my partner birthday !
They assigned me a room facing the train station. I couldn’t sleep (train at 3 am!!). Even if I requested a room with a river view multiple times before checking in. Also, they didn’t have my room ready at 7 pm???
Big shot out to Franco at the bar, best pisco sour in town!!
I booked 3 days before I didn’t confirm the date when am going to Machupicchu. Unfortunately, I found only 2 days I stayed there. But it is difficult to change the booking from Hotels.com I there is no contact by email… I couldn’t change the date…
Hotel was understood our situation but the timing is very busy time. It is impossible to change the booking and non refundable, but they offered the massage for my 3 families instead!
It was unexpected offer and surprise us!
After climbing Wainapicchu, our family took a comfortable massage and had a wonderful time.
I really thanks the service of this hotel. I really recommend this hotels service quality and kindness.
If I will go again, I booked the same hotel:)
The communication team is super strong and from the moment you book ur dates, they will make sure your experience with them is smooth.
The reception was very friendly and we were even offered an upgrade to one of their suites. The rustic outlook of the rooms were very pleasant and comforting. The room came with a separate jacuzzi with a sun shade ceiling along with serene views of the flowing river right beside you and the calming sound of the water flow was enough to take away all the tiredness from half day journey and exploring the town.
They serve breakfasts starting 5am, which was an additional plus since we had a 5:30am bus to Machu Picchu. Though not exhaustive, it was a good wholesome selection of items in the menu.
They even offered us to join for a pisco sour tasting tour at their own bar by the river, which was amazing… I can sit there for at least couple of hours with my drink :)
They also helped keep our luggage in their storage after we checked out to explore Machu Picchu.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
It's a good hotel, we only spent a few hours there because we arrived late in the evening and left at 4.30am to climb up Machu Picchu.
The room was comfortable and specious, bathrooms are a bit run out and need some love. The stuff was super nice and organised some food for us before the breakfast even started, also they kindly offered us a late check-out which was great because we took a shower and changed after our climb.
We booked this hotel last minute and they were SO accommodating. They immediately helped us when we walked in and were so kind. The hotel is beautiful, so clean, and in a great location. I highly recommend!!
