A fabulous villa and pool!
The villa is everything that is advertised and we had a wonderful stay at Erase Una Vez. The villa has everything you could possibly want, including a welcome pack. There is a stock of herbs etc, as well as soaps, washing up liquids etc. The villa is off the beaten track, with some hairpin mountain roads, however the roads are fairly quiet. The pay-off is the privacy and the night sky is amazing - we could see the milky way, and had a fantastic show of a meteor shower over 4 nights during our stay. The pool is warm from 9 - 10 am, there is also an outdoor shower to wash the salt off. With there being 2 kitchens and 2 fridge-freezers, there was plenty of room for our food and drinks. We all enjoyed the ping-pong table outside. There is a pool table in the summer kitchen, but it probably doesn't have quite enough room around it, to play well. There is a Lidl in Albox, which is about a 40 minute drive. On the last few days of our stay, we went more inland and found a Mercadona in Puerto Lumbreras, which is easier to get to - the roads being so much better. Laureano was available if we had any problems, and helped make our stay very comfortable, a real pleasure to meet. A renovated monastery - Hospederia Santuario is a 10 minute drive, for a fabulous meal, call first though, to check when open. Bowleria in Albox for bowling and food was great too. Mojacar has beaches and is just over an hour away - the sea was fabulously warm.

Lovely mountain retreat
Muriel & Laureano were extremely welcoming, communicative and generous hosts. They have thought of many things to make the stay more enjoyable and relaxing. They were extremely helpful before our arrival and gave excellent tips on the local area. The villa itself is in a remote location but you are rewarded with stunning panoramic views and zero light and noise pollution so it’s wonderful at night as well as in the day. The standard of the pool and pool area were exceptional and the plancha in the pool kitchen was a joy to cook on. We had two young children and both the villa and outside areas were great for adults and children. Highly recommend a stay here.

Fantastic property if you love tranquility - amazing hosts!!
This house in the almond tree covered hills of Andalusia is a fantastic choice for everyone who loves nature, starry nights, remoteness and quietness. The house is well equipped with everything you might need during your stay. A big, clean and deep (at one side) pool offers a refreshing break from the Southern sun. The almonds were ripe, so we ate fresh ones every day. Also the house is offering a herbs garden which was a welcomed add-on to our fresh salads. The house itself offers everything we needed, including two bathrooms and one additional bathroom down by the pool! Enough towels for the three of us were provided, although we brought our own. The washing machine works well. The best was the amazingly clear nights with unpolluted views of the MilkyWay and Andromeda galaxy (we stayed in August). For everyone who is passionate about dark skies - this house is fantastic. At ~3000ft/1000m above sea level, the valley dust was well below us offering pristine views. Great place for astro-photography. And the hosts are amazing, too - great communication, superior customer support coming over to fix a minor issue we had with no hesitation. Even a welcome package and some drinks to get started with the vacation waited for us on arrival. And for the departure, at 5a.m. the host came by personally to say good-by! Very kind and sooo much appreciated! Communication by whatsapp throughout the stay worked very well. The pool is serviced two times the week and was advised in advance again by Whatsapp. Some of the best hosts we've had so far (and we are experiences vacation home renters). Oh, by the way - the beds are comfy (even for tall people) - and the master bed room has a funky colored blinking light - which we found out by accident on the last day - just try it - it's funny! Overall, a very pleasant experience, and a big recommendation from us. Thanks so much for everything!

An extremely peaceful location for a get-away-from-everyone holiday
The major plus point for us was the extreme peace and quiet we enjoyed and the chance to wake up undisturbed by anyone or anything. Silence is so rare in our lives and the chance to experience it for two weeks was magical. All you can see are the mountains, sky and surrounding fields full of almond trees. All you can hear is birdsong and bees humming. The villa is well equipped and I felt comfortable doing more cooking there than I normally would on holiday. Small touches such as an international adaptor, hairdryers and shopping bags were very useful, as was lots of English DVDs and Xbox games. There was a lot of international television but sadly nothing in English, however Netflix came to the rescue and worked well considering the remote location. As we went in mid-October we didn't use the pool room facilities, the plancha or the pool. The pool was delightful to look at but far too cold in October - we're not that hardy! so we'll have to go back to try it out. Although there is sleeping space for 8, I would say there is only room for 4 adults comfortably in the villa, unless you spend all your time outdoors. Again, not a problem in summer. It is worth emphasising the remoteness of the villa because with the beauty of the peace and silence comes a 25 minute drive before you reach civilisation. We loved being remote, but the practicalities of being so far away from everyone meant that we spent a lot more time driving than we wanted to (and we love exploring by car so that is saying something). The twisty mountain roads were also the cause of several bouts of travel sickness amongst us adults, particularly in the dark, so consider if this would cause you a problem. Be prepared for the last 200m to the villa which is an extremely steep, uneven track of stones so when hiring a car, make it something a bit more robust. However this is a jewel of an area with plenty to do and places to explore, including Grenada and Murcia. We would definitely return. Thanks particularly to the owners for their prompt contact, extremely helpful and friendly approach and fast return of our deposit.

Very enjoyable - stunning area and villa - limited places to eat on an evening
Fantastic 'well stocked' (as in cutlery/crockery/vinegars/spices etc etc) family villa (although there was only two of us - we love space to ourselves) - great place for cooking and eating outdoors. Pool area is amazing - views are spectacular and because surrounding villas are unoccupied we found the privacy - just the way we like it. Only down side for us as a couple - we choose not to cook for ourselves on holiday - tend to have jaunt out somewhere for a coffee - then back for lunch and relax (again) so found choices of where to eat on an evening (locally) very limited - either restaurant at the garage where food was OK and people very friendly - and patient with our attempts at Spanish with 'Google' - only other place was the nearby monastery just up the hill from the Villa - again food was OK - didn't find it outstanding as others had seemed to but again very friendly (menu only in Spanish - translation thanks again to Google) - We enjoyed the villa, had a lovely welcome from Mary who we by chance met up with at the garage restaurant on the Friday (festival night) and had a wonderful night with her and Carl enjoying their translations of locals conversations. Would I go back - YES - one thing to watch out for if you arrive on a Sunday afternoon there are NO supermarkets open in Albox to do your shopping - so shop a bit nearer to Almeria where there are some open. Otherwise it means a trip out the next day - which we usually like to keep as a total chill day. Overall a lovely relaxing place, and thanks to the owners there is nothing you will be short of. They have made a lovely haven with their care and love.

If your looking for that away from it all location....
If you are looking for isolation then this is the place for you. We loved the peace and beauty of the surrounding area, you can park the car, lock the gates and be at peace with the world. It is a long drive to the nearest large town of Albox, so it is essential that you do your shopping prior to arrival. We didn't drive around a lot, so we never found out if there was a local shop to go to. The house, it's name translates to Once upon a time, didn't really reach to fairytale heights for us. At night there are lights which come on which helps to promote the fairytale nature. The house is full of everything you need, you just need to hunt into the array of cupboards to find it. Yes, its a bit of an adventure!. There are three bedrooms in the main house and a double in an annex to the summer kitchen. The master bedroom, we felt was a bit of a disappointment, the bed had two single mattresses on top of what seemed to be a double. You feel very precarious pearched on it. The owners suggested we use the annex bedroom, but that didn't work for us. On the outside, the patio surrounds the house on three sides and there are different places to sit and eat. We loved the opportunity to eat outside. The steps lead down to to pool and summer kitchen, We used the pool at lot. It's a very good size and the water cooled us down when we felt too hot. We didn't take the opportunity to use the summer kitchen with it griddle for barbecues. Overall, the house is an interesting one, with plenty of character. If the owners are seeking a fairytale destination, then its a work in progress. It needs more to make it so. Would we go again, then yes we would. The location is fantastic for solitude and views over the surrounding countryside. The owners require paperwork to be signed and returned. It's a bit onerous compared to other villas that we have booked using this site. Overall we had a very good week's holiday.

Quiet and remote, relaxing stay
We stayed here with 4 children aged 8-16. The pool and wifi were great for them. There was a pool table and table tennis but they were so packed into the summer kitchen under piles of inflatables they were unused during our stay. The boules pitch was enjoyed though. The villa is over stocked with crockery, cutlery and so many dining spaces. There is plenty of cupboard space available in the bedrooms. We were unlucky in having power issues for the 1st 24hrs and then when the power returned, one of the fridges didn't recover. This meant we had to shop for fresh food/water every couple of days during our two week stay costing a fair bit in fuel as, be warned, it's an hour's round trip to the supermarket. Should all run smoothly, this wouldn't be a problem however. Jackie & Denis were on hand for any help we needed and Muriel & Laureano kept in touch too. The area is stunning - lunch at the monastery is a must. We also travelled to Vera, Mojácar, Tabernas (mini Hollywood) and Roquetas de Mar (for the aquarium). Roads are easy to follow but not for the car sick :) We had a lovely evening watching the Perseids meteors as the sky is so clear here. It's location means there was no need for air con (we visited in a very hot August) as the temperature cooled at nights and was a couple of degrees colour than Albox during the day too. The pool was mostly a pleasant temperature - I believe keeping it covered helps keep it warmer, but the pool cover roller was broken so we didn't use this. There were the usual flies and wasps/bees you find in the summer but were pretty much harmless. The local dog paid regular visits too - he liked to take shade under the cars (check before your drive!!) We had a very restful and relaxing stay here in this stunning area.

MAGNIFIQUE !
