We booked 2 nights, 1st was a Saturday for a 1 bed apartment (A02) Apartment was below ground floor of reception, was 2 levels, bedroom level/living same level as public flight of stairs and roadway below, kitchen and dining was basement with tiny high windows and closed shutters (no natural light), felt like a cave. Virtually no sleep 1st night, worst hotel stay in decades and I have stayed at over 30 nights past year. Contacted Hotels.com at breakfast, advised them we couldn’t stay a second night with no sleep and to please contact hotel to ask for refund for second night. Within minutes, had this confirmation, so a big thank you to Hotels.com for awesome action. Checked out and booked another hotel closer to next destination. Reception at hotel were very efficient and pleasant to deal with, especially the lady who assisted us on checkin and checkout. However, lady server on rooftop bar/restaurant last Saturday evening, was surly and clearly didn’t like her job, she is not doing the hotel any favours. Also, I believe there are 3 bars at the bottom of the hotel building that serve customers till 1 am. If the hotel controls these spaces, they should reevaluate, as the rest of the hotel rooms are surely impacted by them to the early hours, as confirmed by a staff member to me. I spoke to another guest at breakfast who also complained about the noise.
