The beds themselves were clean enough, however the shower was in a poor state with mould on the tubing and around the shower head.
The bathroom was tiny and you had to sit on the toilet at an angle when the door was shut.
The stairwell was extremely steep and the carpet in the hallway was filthy.
The breakfast was VERY basic and coffee stone cold on 2 of our 3 mornings.
The beds were very basic and uncomfortable and the windows didn't close properly so blocking out the noise from the street below (went on all night at weekend) was impossible.
The young fellas running the place were pleasant enough, however they didn't give an impression of knowing the business. We waited about 30 minutes on our arrival, for someone to come to the hotel and check us in.
Location was good in that it's central, however the noise from the street didn't make for a good night's sleep.
The worst hotel I have ever stayed in my life, the bathroom is shared, you have to pay to have an upgrade, it's terrible, you can hear every step you take, it doesn't have an elevator, the stairs are terrible, I don't recommend it.

There is no elevator only stairs and the stairs is very narrow. No hot water kettle in room. But close conveniently close to bars and night and city.
The hotel is very convenient. Like all the other reviewers indicated, it is on a Main Street. Our window was opened while we slept for ventilation and can hear everything happening. Since Amsterdam is an older city it is expected that the building will be dated. We had 3 beds. The washroom knob was strange as it seemed like it needed repair. The water pressure was also just okay. The receptionist were super helpful and friendly. We asked for extra toilet paper, and towel (our room only had for 2 ppl). We also indicated one of the bottles of soap was empty and got a new one. The stairs are spiral stairs. So it is hard with suitcases. However this has been noted on the description. If you want convenience, this place is very close to the train. We also paid extra for the breakfast across the street. The staff were friendly and it was a good/fresh breakfast.
Hotel was dirty ,no air conditioning so 3 of us in a room was like a sweat box. Door keys kept failing so having to constantly get new ones. Place to get breakfast wasn’t open the whole time we were there. If you have. Showed it less into the bedroom. Uneven flooring which caused a fall. For the price we paid I’m disgusted at this.
The only good thing about the hotel is being in the center of the town.
No elevator, tiny stairway, no shower, no toilet in the rooms.
Outrageous cancelation cost.
This place is awful. The person who checked me in was either high or just didnt give a crap. The room was atrocious but that is not even my issue. The tv didn't work, I can love with that. However, the door to the room would not close when I wanted to leave. I had to almost take off my fingers to get it to close. I was locked in the bathroom on the second floor for a half hour. The lock must have jammed and I spent that half hour in a windowless hot bathroom trying to jiggle the door knob and handle to get out. When I checked out I told the staff about these issues, and she was either high or just didnt give a crap. She didn't write anything down about the room lock or the bathroom lock to tell management. This place is a fire hazard and I really hope someone doesnt die because of their negligence. Shame on them.
The room was small but comfortable enough. There are only stairs to get to your room so if you have heavy liggage it might now work. The shower and bath room was very moldy and smelled pretty bad
