My husband and I stayed at Station Amstelveen for one night, the night before we flew back to Canada. I had been hunting for a hotel that would see us continue our wonderful time experiencing the Netherlands, without just killing time at a boring, standard airport hotel. Well, we hit the jackpot with Station Amstelveen. It's all that I was hoping for. The town of Amstelveen is easily accessible from Amsterdam's Central Station. You take the subway and then take a tram. From there, it's about at 10 minute walk to Station Amstelveen. We were happily welcomed to the bed and breakfast. Our room was so comfortable and clean! It was spacious and stunning! Breakfast was delicious and healthy, with any kind of coffee you wish. I love lattes. The bed and breakfast is right in town, with a myriad of options for a lovely dinner. A lot of the Dutch locals were out at one local pub, in the street at an early hour (7 p.m.) on a Sunday night, so jovial and singing. It was so much fun to see a real town come alive. Sitting perched at the end of a boring, big name hotel would never had provided us such a great experience. I really recommend you stay there! There are only a handful of rooms, so it is a very lovely, intimate experience. The dining area is stunning, with all of the plants and tall windows. I took a ton of pictures to show my daughter, who is a professional stylist of home decor. I knew she'd appreciate the lovely spaces that Station Amstelveen has created.
