The room was very basic. There was a coffee machine with no instructions to use it, a TV with no instructions and a shower that didn't work. Staff didn't seem to care about us. I was staying with my retired mum and my daughter aged 16, I am in my 40s. We asked at reception about the shower and a man came to show us how to use it. It was very stiff and the water could only be turned on and off if you used a towel over the handle. My mum couldn't turn it on or off and we all really struggled. It wasn't easy at all and put my daughter off using it at all! The room was dull and very boring. There was no phone to call reception. Redeeming features were it was clean and they make good pizza in the hotel. But I wouldn't stay there again due to lack of ambience. You don't get much for the price and breakfast isn't included.

Overpriced hotel in nice area
Great location, love the area BUT Dated hotel, tiny rooms, shower floods bathroom floor. Way too expensive for accommodations.
We were glad we got to check in early and then we paid €15 to check out later at 1300. One annoying thing was that their key card system was down so they had to escort us to our rooms each time to let us in. Not really their fault it failed but nevertheless, annoying for guests to have to wait for each front desk person to return to be able to go into their rooms. I loved that we were able to rent bikes from the hotel but one catch was that you had to have €50 cash for each bike you wanted to rent as a deposit. They weren’t able to put a hold on our credit card so we had to venture off and find the nearest ATM. Overall, the bed was comfortable, the showers had good pressure and hot water!

Decent location, good sized room for three. Coffee maker in the room. Thank you
Hotel was a lot more rundown than I expected and the bathroom smelt like sewage for the duration of my stay. However apart from this, the facilities were clean, nothing was broken and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The area around the hotel is quite nice even if it is quite a distance to walk to sites. It is an older hotel with very basic amenities. Good for the price.
This was a wonderful place to stay. Quiet and a nice neighborhood. Good facilities. The staff wasn’t mean or rude , they’re just not “friendly” or approachable by American standards. I asked a question about the area and they weren’t eager to talk or happy about it. Haha
We figured it out and had a wonderful time in A’dam.

Disliked: Amenities
Our room was in the basement and windowless which was not disclosed in the booking. The contenental breakfast was sparse and basic and though it was free for the rest of the hotel, was quite pricey for we dungeon dwellers. I’ve stayed in Amsterdam 2 to 5 days a year for the past 10 years at the same price point. This was very sub par in comparison. Location is amazing though.
