Exactly what we were looking for. An authentic traditional auberge/inn style accommodation, beautifully located in old Annecy, full of character and rustic charm and nothing of the polished plastic of modern hotel chains. The old-fashioned compact sit-down bathtub was novel, but part of the charm.

Location, location, location!
The hotel is in an amazing location. Right on the central island in the old town. The couple who own the business seem focused on their restaurant, but were nice to us. The building and room are old, but clean enough. Suggest changing the carpet. Canal-side rooms, though somewhat more expensive, are probably quieter. Especially true the night before market when trucks continually arrive for hours in the night.
Great location on the canal in oldtown. Nice restaurant but too expensive for us. Wifi was limited. Pleasant staff, not all of them spoke english well, but they did a good job with us.
The location is fantastic, right on the canal in the old town District, walkable from everywhere you want to go and very picturesque. Room cleanliness could be improved though, they don't provide soap or toilet paper and there was no WIFI. The location trump's a lot though.
We never made it to the room. When we called to find out how to unload the luggage I got a woman who only spoke French and could only say full without understanding I had a reservation. My wife after walking for a bit found the hotel. She said it looked run down and dirty. No one was at the hotel counter. If you arrived after 6pm they closed down. 6pm in a buisness section of old town???
Tea woman met her who again only spoke French and made no attempt to find out what my wife needed. A wait staff/cook who spoke some English tried to help, but the woman argued with him. We were told to use another hotels parking that was five blocks away and there was no where to unload. We were not given suitable directions the the parking area.
The location looked fun and quaint; you’ll expect to see the three musketeers to turn the corner at any moment.
They probably would have helped at the hotel.
What was suppose to be a quiet romantic stay on the canal turned into a travelers nightmare on elm rue.
It was nice that I was able to make reservations at a nearby town on hotel.com;
But it was unfortunate that when I presented hotel.com with the problem I had and would like a refund I found no help other that they contacted the hotel and the staff only spoke French and could only say “full”. Therefore they could get an verbal agreement to refund the money.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The noise - it was so hot we had to opened the windows because no air conditioning and therefore very noisy even at night and morning.
The carpet in the bedroom is in very bad condition and a lack of plugs to recharge the phone.
Nice lady at the reception, very helpful and welcoming. Very good location. You get what you pay for so good value .
