We love staying at boutique hotels because they are charming and have an intimacy about them. However, it’s important to note that hotels need to be comfortable and good for sleep. Unfortunately, on our first night, our room was on the ground floor with cold stone floors and although it was in the back building, we continuously heard our upstairs neighbours walk back and forth, the front door open and close as people checked out at 8am and when they came home at 2am or 4am. When I asked for slippers as the floors were too cold, the receptionist told us that the hotel doesn’t provide slippers and that she usually carries some with her when she travels. Needless to say, we did not have a good nights rest or get to enjoy our stay the first night. The receptionist arranged for a room change on the second night which was much cozier and we had a better experience. Although really chic and modern, I’m not sure we would stay here again.
