There's no need to travel much to understand that your lodging is always a choice for something and against another. As in, you can't both be in the city, and on top of the mountain. And you can't both have a five minute drive to restaurants and be surrounded by nature. And you can't both have almost complete privacy and every amenity and convenience. You definitely can't have a natural, cabin feel along with luxurious linens in a cozy bed, beautiful construction, and thoughtfully appointed space.
But that's what you get with this getaway. It's all the things that no reasonable person would expect to find, all in one. The charming town (city?) of Asheville is down the long driveway and around the bend, just minutes to everything, including the interstate, fine dining, or the mall, all of which we needed. And yet I have never enjoyed more privacy, perfect for our romantic and restful getaway. This property was designed with great love and care, and you can't put a price on that.
My caveat would be that I wouldn't bring small children or a grown up party. The space was just right for the two of us, and while glasses of wine and conversation were apropos, it's not a place where one would want to spill drinks, dance with a disco ball, fry up a big feast, or be running in and out muddy. The host is careful with the space and the expectation is that guests would be, as well.
We LOVED our stay, and left feeling rested and luxuriated.
