Interesting boutique hotel. Lots of modern style touches and conveniently located near whatever you want to do.
This is also the source of the meh, do you really want to stay here.
The hotel is on the old waterline which means it sits on top of pylons. Underneath, year round, there are a ton of sea lions that take up shelter on the rocks below. Loud is an understatement. There is a reason there is ear plugs and noise machines available for use in each room. This cacophony is practically present on any room facing inland as the echo off the industrial buildings only adds to the volume.
The mattress was comfortable and the amenities pleasant not withstanding the inconceivable choices like using construction framing nails to hold the shelf in the shower. I can only imagine what that'll be like if you bump up against it let alone slip in the shower. Not to mention using metal siding as the shower sides with exposed screw heads.
Parking is also an issue as it's (currently) either $15 extra a night for valet or you can park within a few blocks wherever you find space on the street (which is very limited and not great for if you need to get to your car quickly or keep something in there overnight.)
Staying here is certainly an experience. But one I won't replicate.
