A lovingly maintained garden, some of which is left natural, is ideal for relaxing and enjoying the fresh air. The terraces embedded in the rock invite you to enjoy a cosy barbecue evening, where you can prepare the sea fish you have caught. On the property and in the immediate vicinity, you will find blueberries, gooseberries, raspberries, blackberries and sweet cherries in the right season, which you are welcome to eat.
Activities:
The nearest big city is Bergen. It is one of the largest cities in Norway and is about 60 minutes by car from the holiday home. There are a lot of things to do there: There are several shopping malls, restaurants, an old town, a viewing platform on one of the seven city mountains with a view over the entire city and a fish market that is worth seeing. You can also do many great leisure activities there. For example, you can book a guided horse riding tour, go kayaking, climb in the climbing park with zipline, swim and dive, go go-karting, go bowling, visit the trampoline hall or even go ice skating and play mini golf and much more. All tours and the option to book them can be found at the following link: https://de.visitbergen.com/erl...
The next activities are also not far away from the holiday home itself. There are various hiking trails and several ports in the area. The port with its own boat,
which you can rent for an additional charge, is about 5 minutes by car from the holiday home. From this you can, among other things, take a boat tour through the fjords of Norway.
If you have planned something a little more, it is worth visiting the nearby island of Fedje in addition to the trip to Bergen. The ferry port is a 30-minute drive from the holiday home, and the crossing itself takes about 30 minutes and is free. On the island there is a picturesque old fishing village and numerous hiking trails along the coast, with the choice between well-paved paths and paths that take you over "hill and dale". If the weather is right, this is something very worth seeing.
Anglers also get their money's worth. The fish species found locally include: pollock, cod, pollack, redfish, ling, herring, mackerel and halibut. In the basement of the holiday home there is a filleting station and a freezer.
Directions:
Since there are two different options for direct ferry crossings from Germany to Norway, here is a comparison of the two options:
- One option is the overnight ferry from Hirtshals directly to Bergen itself. This ferry departs Hirtshals at 18:00 and arrives in Bergen at 12:00 the next day. The crossing itself is very relaxed, there are restaurants and shops on the ferry and a TV in your own cabin. This also saves you the cost of a hotel stay. You arrive in Bergen well-rested in the morning and still have about a 60-minute drive to the holiday home. From my own experience, this is a much better choice.
- Another option is the ferry from Hirtshals to Larvik. The crossing itself takes 4 hours and the ferry leaves Hirtshals at either 6:00 p.m. or 10:00 p.m. Once you arrive in Larvik, it is about a 9-hour (400 km) drive to the house. It is therefore worth looking for accommodation for the night in Larvik and continuing on the next morning.
- If you arrive by plane, the nearest airport is in Bergen, where you can rent a car and then it is about a 45-minute drive to the holiday home.
Shopping:
- Nearby shops, including a supermarket, a pharmacy, an electronics store and a petrol station with electric car charging station, are about 5 minutes by car from the holiday home.
