It was wonderful to stay at Hotel Alfonso V. Good location that is close to the Forum and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was great and had tons of items to choose from and they are very baby friendly. We arrived at the hotel and initially were given a room with two twin beds, we asked to change room to get a double and they were very accomodating. Rooms are nice and chic and the hotel is clean all around.

Good value for money. Hotel was clean, service was good. Wifi and TV worked fine. Hotel is about 20 minutes walk from station. Main shops/attractions are a pleasant walk about 1 km along the canal. Hotel not "exceptional" but could not fault it, and price was very reasonable, breakfast OK but slightly limited choice, but then again at 7 Euros it was not extortionate. would willingly stay there again

I stayed 3 nights in this hotel. Just FYI, it is really dated. Carpet was no too clean IMO. Bathroom is clean and great. Mattress/pillows/sheets are clean though and not bad quality.

Alonso V certainly was a palace in its earlier days. Vastness of its halls, rooms including the breakfast room must have been a grand baĺlroom. We did like it's charm. All staff we interacted with went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. When we think this place as a palace right from last century, we need to add the bathrooms have been recently modernized and the airconditiooning was welcome in this exceptionally hot September.

In major need of renovation
The hotel is quite old already and is in major need of renovation. The rooms are extremely noisy and you can hear everything going on next door, upstairs and downstairs. The room bathroom was not clean. There was no connection with the garage and it is quite complicated to take your suitcases back to the hotel. The wifi did not work properly. The location is okay, walkable distance to the city center.
