Hotel is conveniently located near platinum mall & central world. However this was the worst stay ever, the AC doesn’t work - not able to adjust. Sockets at the desk area are in a weird position - not able to plug apple charges properly. Worst was the spooky experience that we encountered during our stay - we heard ‘someone’ talking IN our room. I stayed there with my 2 sisters; and 3 of us heard. When I tried to call the hotel recept, the line doesn’t work, we had to go down to change rooms. Staff wasn’t being helpful & told us only smoking rooms left, we rejected and asked for another room after multiple tries. Changed rooms and similar spooky encounter. Book at your own risk.

Good hotel, but housekeeping let us down
I won't do a lengthy review, as I've reviewed the Berkeley before. We like the hotel, but on this visit, our third, there was one issue that bears pointing out: We were in the hotel's North Tower instead of the main tower; on our five-night stay, we only requested housekeeping service on two days, hanging the "make up this room" sign on the door and illuminating the proper electronic green light before going to breakfast and being away from the room at least two hours. But both times the housekeeping staff hadn't cleaned the room and we had to call to have it serviced. The front desk was responsive enough, but it was shocking considering the overall quality of the hotel. In fairness, we would still return in the future, in hopes that the housekeeping staff will have learned its lesson.

The staff service is good and they are helpful. The room has a stale smell and there was noise from the air con vent and had to someone to fix it in the middle of the night. Which cost some Inconvenience. Our sleep was disturbed.

Affordable and pleasant
We chose this hotel for its close proximity to the airport rail link station (ratchaprarop) which is about 10 mins walk. Although hotel is not exactly near to any bts station, Central World Mall and Platinum Mall are easily walkable (except for the traffic light crossing that was rather difficult to cross as the wait was long and confusing). There is a connected ‘R Walk’ from CentralWorld to Siam Bts and thus Siam paragon but be prepared for quite a walk. We booked several klook packages where the pickup points were mostly at CentralWorld, hence was convenient for us. Hotel buffet breakfast was pretty good with an international range of choices. Hotel cleaniness was acceptable except no warm or hot water tap when using the hand sink. One plus point is the spacious layout of the hotel room where you can freely leave your open luggages around and still have sufficient space to move around. Overall, a very pleasant stay!

Great breakfast buffet
After an initial glitch during check-in, our stay at the Berkeley Pratunam was excellent. The restaurant’s breakfast buffet is one of the best I’ve experienced, with a variety of Thai, Western and other Asian specialties: They even had an Indian section where cooks made masala dosas and plain dosas! The central location is good, near the Ratchaprarop Airport Link and MRT stations. The Berkeley has a nice outdoor pool outside an equally nice sports bar/cafe that has live music in the evening, and an efficient laundry service, which I did use. We did find on this stay and a previous one a year ago that adjusting the shower temperature in the rooms can be quite tricky.

The hotel is about 8-10mins walk to Big C and Central World shopping mall. There are many massage outlets along the way. Is also walkable to Siam Paragon about 15 mins walk. Every night there is night market just outside of the hotel. About 10 mins walk to MRT.

Good size rooms, comfortable bed and pillows, very quiet, good breakfast, slight smell of damp in carpets and also mixed smoking and non smoking rooms on each floor so sometimes the smell came through the aircon. Try to get a room in the main tower for convenience. Close proximity to shopping and food. Very good stopover hotel!
