Fantastic Stay – Highly Recommend! I recently stayed for two nights in a deluxe room at Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham in Ellsworth, and I was incredibly impressed. The room was spotless and super comfortable, making me feel right at home. The kitchenette was a wonderful bonus, stocked with all the utensils I needed, which made preparing meals for baby so easy. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was welcoming, and everything was well-maintained. I will definitely be coming back the next time I'm in the area. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great place to stay near Bar Harbor!

Fantastic Room, Perfect Location, Super Comfy!
The room was fantastic, very friendly service at check-in, great breakfast. We love the location, and that we can walk to Hannaford's to pick up snacks and drinks after a long day in Acadia and Bar Harbor. This is our go-to hotel when visiting Acadia! It was our second stay here and won't be our last.

Stay away from here- too dated and no elevators
I was unhappy to learn that they have no elevators to get your luggage and yourself to the second floor. Our room ceiling has a huge crack that looked like pieces could fall down on us.

Property did not have my reservation saved. Stated Expedia canceled it. (Even though I was charged for it). They tried to say they had no more rooms available. Then room we got had a bad ceiling nothing currently leaking but can tell something had leaked and was gross looking. Can hear every footstep in hallway. Non stop barking dogs at 7am. Restaurants around the area are very limited and close around 7-8pm.

Room was very basic. Bathroom door knob was broken. Everytime we shut the door, we would get locked inside and had to call the maintenance guy to unblock the door. Breakfast included in the hotel was very pretty boring. There was no hot breakfast. It was only things like cereal, waffles and bread. Coffee machine kept breaking down but fresh coffee was prepared by the staff on request.

Building needs some attention, lobby was in rough shape but the clerk was very friendly and efficient in getting us checked in. Our room was decent with a few small things they could have improved upon. Lifted the toilet seat to find old urine on the bowl. Room next to ours was weird looking from the parking lot. Like it was abandoned with a bunch of junk piled up everywhere...felt kind of strange knowing that was just on the other side of the wall from us. Otherwise no real complaints and we were only here for one night.

I was surprised that this is a VERY old Holiday Inn property that has been "refurbished"... I guess that's what you could say?! The hotel was pretty pricey we felt for what was actually delivered. The bathroom was updated and felt "newer", but the room did not. The heat/ AC unit was the original (how I knew it was a very old Holiday Inn - my grandfather used to run them decades ago and it had the old logo). The mattress had box springs and was quite noisy. The furniture was sparse and of average to lower end. It just felt... kinda low-end even though the prices weren't. This is only a personal opinion of my specific room and stay. Another person could have a completely different experience. We would not stay here again.

We checked into the first room and it was awful, the front desk person was very nice and found another room for us. The second room was better but not to the standard that I am use too. Our two night stay there was over $500 and the manager only refunded me $75 for the poor conditions of the first room, which included mouse droppings, a dead bug, and chips on the floor between night stand and bed. Needless to say we will never stay at another Wyndham Property again.

Check in & lobby look great but once u get ur room the rugs in hallways are nasty, stained and dingy. Was quite surprisingly with the location. Rooms were clean and spacious.

Kitchen area with counter, dishwasher, and full-sized refrigerator, but no cooktop. Limited to microwaved food options (except the microwave didn't work). Overall, hotel appeared in need of a refresh.

Property is clean and conveniently located. Only one issue, window does not seal and exhaust fumes would fill room. seemed like staff new about it when brought to their attention. Also, pool needs alot of work.
