Absolutely superb!
We stayed on a Monday (22nd July) when the restaurant was closed which may explain why we were the only guests in the hotel that night. But this also meant that we had it all to ourselves :-). The pool was very warm and spotless until clouds and wind from an approaching storm blew leaves all over it, which added to the charm. The service was excellent - warm, attentive but not overly so. It's the little things that count like a couple of slices of cake offered with a delicious sparkling rose, or the umbrella brought over 'in case the weather turns' whilst we were enjoying the warmth of the evening by the pool. Our room was kindly upgraded to a duplex level with air con which was not just opulent and high spec but also charming. The grounds were also beautiful (as well as spotless) and the guest book confirmed the high quality of guests and satisfaction enjoyed by all who have stayed.
Our only criticism would be the price of the breakfast. We booked it as there was nowhere else to eat within walking distance, and we wanted a last dip in the pool before checking out. At 25 euros per person, it is a steep price and inevitably we expected a lot - we each had a croissant, a pain au chocolat, a couple of slices of bread with small selection of jams, a small fresh fruit salad, fresh squeezed juice and coffee. Plus a small round local brioche. It was all very tasty but definitely not worth 25 euros.
