1st want to correct my checkin review. Staff mistakes told me that stays longer than 7 days will only have room cleaning once a week & that I had no option about this! Hotel quickly corrected this and cleaned my room everyday after I informed management. Hotel potential to again be 4* is good. My room was actually well planned with 4 bottles of drink in fridge & coffee/tea pot for every night and great wifi. Love its steam room. Staff & location close to Ubahn are topnotch. Great shower & excellent toiletries including body lotion. 2 English speaking TV channels;-) I do understand completely the hard economic recession wonderful Berlin has been thru. It has outdated features that really need fixing up. 1. with global warming, no ac made 7/10 nights unbearable. Need to get room ac's back even if they're small room units during hot days to make booking this hotel worth it. 2. had 1 frayed hand towel with a hole, a no-no in a 4*hotel. Need old thin towels thrown out for better quality ones. 3. upgrade in-hotel restaurant menu 4. there were days the toilet had a horrible sewer stench. frequent flushing seemed to prevent this but not all the time. 1 time without using the toilet, the horrible stench just came out of what appears to be a clean toilet that was covered, maybe stench from next door room. The staff at Living Hotel Großer Kurfürst were always attentive to my questions. They kindly helped me mail postcards and stored my bags when I arrived before check-in time. The room I had was spacious, particularly the bathroom. There was a nice view of the Spree from my room. The hotel is in an ideal location. Each morning, I could get a coffee and sit on a bench near the water. The Märkisches Museum station is adjacent to the hotel, and there are a number of buses nearby. Hard Wax and Tresor are a short walk away if you are into electronic music, especially techno! There's also Káffee Büro close by and Besh is not too far for delicious food. In the evenings, the hotel is very quiet, and I was able to get really good sleep.

Stayed here for one night and had a very positive experience. It was very quiet and clean. Room was ready early and was very comfortable and spacious. Nice location with restaurants on the water and beautiful architecture. Would’ve been happy to stay there longer if I were in town for a longer stay.
