The room needs more places to hang up clothes or someplace other than the floor to unpack suitcases. Need shelves above microwave or some counter space. The bed was comfortable but the tile floors were cold.

Great for silent winter recreationalists!
Great place overall! Warm comfy cabin with soft bed made for a great night sleep after cross country skiing or snowshoeing at Wolverine trails. These trails are within walking distance of the parking lot. Well stocked kitchen with plates, silverware and cookware made for great fuel to prepare me for the next day. I didn't mind walking to a separate building for shower/bathroom. Plumbing does exist which means hot water all around. I did inform my Nordic Ski Club about this place but I don't know if/when we will book. Also not along snowmobile trails which makes for pretty quiet mornings and evenings. I was a bit worried about the upcoming winter storm the day I arrived/the next day but parking lot was cleared around noon and road was cleared before that. I came prepared anyways and it was convenient to be able to walk to the ski/snowshoe trails I had planned. Thanks for a great birthday ski trip experience!

Lack of any host.
When we arrived to the property at about 6 PM, not a soul was around. All doors were locked. Had to call the host to get the key codes for the locks. Being the only guests there that day I was amazed when the host asked, "Do you have a reservation?" Since we were the only guests who had made a reservation that day, wouldn't the host have been expecting us? Since we'd stayed here in the past (previous owner), we did know what to expect as far as amenities. The place itself was clean (except for the dishes and silverware in the common shared kitchen but guests are responsible for that). In the common area, what looked like a surveillance camera was present which was creepy. This was not there in the past and hadn't been disclosed. After 10 PM on the second evening, other guests arrived and attempted to enter our guest cabin, apparently they'd reserved it also. Since they were the only other guests they of course were housed....in the room immediately adjacent to ours. Among the otherwise empty facility. Wolverine Village is a great place to stay for active silent sport folks who appreciate being able to prepare home made food instead of eating out. The guest cabins are dog friendly (although the common hall is not). Just don't expect a friendly host, or anyone at all present at the facility to show you around. While we didn't need to be shown around, it would have been a different story had we never stayed before. It struck us as odd to have the host so disconnected. Not even a call or text to make sure we'd settled in OK, to check if we had any questions or help finding anything, to ask if everything was meeting expectations, nor to follow up after our stay to thank us. I did message the host to ask about the device in the common area that looked like a surveillance camera but I didn't get a reply. Also asked if host would like feedback, and since no reply, I'm sending it to vrbo instead.
