Made to feel welcome from the word GO, pleasant, polite and very friendly staff.Excellent food and supeb wine cellar. Comfortable room, if a little hot.Spotlessly clean, and very well presented.Have been before and the Hotel seems to go from strength to strength. Not cheap, but we weren't looking for a cheap hotel. We will definitely visit again. Usual disclaimers
We couldn’t fault this property at all, from the very friendly and warm reception on arrival to our beautiful room complete with lovely linens on the bed. There was even a hot water bottle in the drawer for those extra chilly nights. They thought of everything. Staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back.
Fabulous old building set in wonderful grounds. Great staff and warm welcome. My towel rail was right next to the loo and the handle of toilet broken and glued, otherwise bathroom was nice with large bath. The dining options outside of full scale dinner are limited but all food, including afternoon tea and breakfast were delicious, thanks
Positives: - Beautiful old manor hotel.
- beautiful surroundings
Negatives:
- More sustainability efforts. Less plastic toiletries.
- For the price you pay, the staff (reception, bar etc) needs to be more warm and welcoming. Our stay felt very impersonal. No one from management checked in with us during the stay. At 500£ per night this should be a requirement.
- Expensive price per night for outdated rooms.
- The common areas could have been more cozy. There was something missing here.
Our room was 500 pounds a night and the venue was pretty enough but the service was shockingly bad. Arrived by car in the rain the doorman just watched us get wet and could have come out with an umbrella… checkin was like a motel….first nights dinner staff were having a party in the kitchen for all to hear… told waiter and they just got louder no respect and no training
This is a charming place, with considerate staff. The Oak Room where we stayed is beautiful but has a lot of people walking past the door, including staff. My one wish would be for a fitness center, but it is a pleasant walk into Broadway.
