Comfiest bed!

My family and I had to have a late check-in as we were traveling back home from a FL vacation. The staff was accommodating, friendly and kind. The hotel smelled NICE. When I laid down, it was one of the comfiest hotel beds I’ve slept in. If you want clean, nice, and comfy, stay here!

Very close to the Hoover Met where we had our volleyball tournament -took MAYBE 6 minutes to get there. Lots of food options both fast food and restaurants. Staff was VERY courteous and met all of my needs. Rooms were clean. Beds comfortable. Able to adjust temperature settings easily.

Overall the stay was average. Staff was friendly. At first glance, the room looked and smelled clean. But look deeper and there were hairs on the shower and bathroom floors and a used razor in the shower stall. Yuk. There was also a previous guests key folder still there. Not a big deal, but makes me wonder about the thoroughness of the cleaning staff. We were there on a Saturday night. I think the street in front of the hotel was being used for street rod races. The engine revving and noise lasted well after midnight. I realize this isn't the hotels fault, but good to know if you are looking for quiet. Location is in a super busy area with lots of traffic, shopping and restaurants.

Bringing in the New Year at the Hyatt Place

My stay at the Hyatt Place Birmingham/ Hoover location was exceptional. The Staff was very pleasant to work with, and they were very accommodating. Due to an issue with Expedia, I had the opportunity to work with the General Manager, Ms. Sonia Mattis. Not only did Ms. Mattis speak with the Expedia representative on my behalf, but both she (Ms. Mattis) and the Hotel Staff were assuring and patient towards me and my situation. Ms. Mattis and her Staff not only assisted me with my hiccup, but they simultaneously were attentive to the other guests who also needed help. Ms. Mattis and her Staff followed back up with me prior to my check out. I appreciate their approach and sensitivity to me and my issues with Expedia. My pressing issue is the way that the Expedia representative handled my concern, which essentially caused a pause in the check-in process. This interaction resulted in the Expedia representative was not pleasant at all. I am hoping that "if" I decide to use this site again, that my experience is better.
