This has been my regular place to stay since I have been traveling here for work. The rooms have been recently refurbished and always clean. Black Mountain is a cool small mountain community town with nice shops and restaurants to visit. Asheville is only about 15 minutes away making it well worth it as a place to stay.

This motel is very rundown. The room was a closed off area behind the office very strangely set up no nightstands, No lamps No floor mats as you came in the door, so made floor very dirty quickly The room is on a slant mattress was way too hard Would not stay here again!!!

Hidden gem of hotel
Acorn Motel is an older motel ... yet they have kept it updated. Heat/AC unit is a wall mount ... but kept the room warm for me (was 35 degrees when I was there). Room has a lot of room. All necessities were in room (ie: hair dryer, shampoo, soap). They are pet friendly - lots of room to walk dogs (I had 3 with me). Outside was very well lit.
