My wife and I recently stayed at the Wood Hotel. We would recommend this hotel to all of our friends. The staff is very friendly and the hotel itself is very clean. The restaurant and cafe both had delicious food

The views around the property are incredible and breakfast is lovely. You will want to drive a car here, however because a taxi to and from the hotel is very expensive. And you will want to go elsewhere for food as the hotel restaurant was fully booked our entire stay (5 nights). The food at the hotel cafe is also expensive. Additionally, you cannot control the window shades and sometimes it gets very sunny and your room will get very hot. Loved that the bathroom floors were heated and evaporated the shower water relatively quickly. Nice that you can use the gym, but pool and sauna must be booked separately. Hiking trails surrounding the hotel are great. Trailheads are a few minutes walk from the lobby in either direction.

Vi bodde på suiten Keiservarden. Det var ikke vannglass noen steder i suiten. Det var heller ikke noen steder å henge håndklær på badene. Det var et badekar, men bare varmtvann nok til et bad. Så var det en rar ubestemmelig lukt på rommet. Badebasseng må bookes og koster 225kr per person. Da har du 2 timer til rådighet, men kun om du kommer akkurat når din periode starter. Barn har veldig begrenset adgang, noe som sikkert er behagelig for andre gjester men 18 år et for høy grense. Våre 2 på 16 og 14 er ikke veldig høylytte av seg og har nok heller ikke slik glede av støy fra 5-6 åringer. Det reklameres med Elbil-lader, noe det ikke er. På pluss-siden er det en fantastisk utsikt, god frokost, gode senger og få andre gjester😅

Flott hotell med magisk utsikt, men ble skuffet over bassenget. Ingen av gjestene orket å bade i vannet særlig lenge da det var for kaldt. Spurte han som jobbet der og han sa det var fordi det skulle være kaldt på grunn av saunaen slik at man skulle kjøle seg ned. Litt dumt egentlig da man egentlig bare trenger å gå ut døren for å kjøle seg ned og da hadde det vært magisk med varmt vann. Sa også i fra når man sjekket ut, men resepsjonisten benektet at det hadde vært kaldt. Rommene er også veldig varme, men man kan lukke opp vinduet, men det må være varmt på sommeren. Frokosten var flott og i tillegg med magisk utsikt.

Overall a wonderful experience. A few minor details that could be improved upon, but all in all a wonderful stay. When we checked in there was a vacant table full of dirty dishes in the lobby, right by the door…not the best sight when you walk into this beautiful hotel. We stood in line for approx. 8 - 10 min. and during that time no one came to clean the area. Check in is at 4pm…there was only one person working in reception and many people came in at the same time to be checked in, so there was a bit of a wait. We checked in online prior to arriving. The clerk at the front desk was helpful and friendly as he gave us our keys. The room is spacious, clean, beautifully furnished and the views are fantastic! We booked a table at the Attme restaurant on the 7th floor. Our waiter was polite but disappeared before we could give him our drink order. He showed up 35 min. later with our starters. We ordered the scallop starter which was tasty. For mains, my husband had the “bouillabaisse” which was closer to a bacalao and I had the braised pork cheeks. Both were good. We had a nightcap at the bar on the 7th floor. Excellent service! The panoramic views in the bar and restaurant are phenomenal! We took a night time hike on the nearby trails…if you attempt this in the fall months, make sure to have a head lamp as the trails are not lit. We retired to our beautiful room and had a good night’s sleep on a very comfortable bed. We will definitely return.
