We personally found it lacking storage space - but we are both wildlife photographers so loads of equipment. The hosts were great, and took on board our comments. Take provisions, nearest shop is in Lairg about 3-4 miles up the road. Very close to Shin falls (leaping salmon) & a couple of good walks from the visitor centre, within walking distance of the Pod. Would I recommend this pod to others - Yes.

Short 3 night break
Great place to spend a few days exploring the North. Everything we needed to fully self cater was available in the pod. Communication with Matthew, the owner, was excellent. Comfortable bed, good shower and well equipped kitchen.

Pod hideaway great link for east coast beaches and west coast touring.
Had a 3 night stay in this pod. Very clean and super comfy bed. Only downside was we had to keep the doors closed when in the pod as midgies were really bad due to no breeze and surrounded by forest.

Could not fault this place, had an amazing time exploring the local trails and falls, as well as further afield on the east coast for the beginning of our NC500 honeymoon! Thanks so much Matthew!

Very accommodating owners. Nice location.
I booked this getaway for my birthday just my dog and I. I was pleasantly surprised at how peaceful the location was. Genuinely loved it! It has pretty much everything you need for a quiet time away from all the noise. I love photography so I was delighted that I had regular wildlife visits. For my last two days there was a weather warning in place which wasn't the best news I could have predicted, but this was when I was extremely delighted when Mr Brooks offered me an extra night as there was no one due that morning. Genuine kindness and for that I will 100% be back in future!

We had a really lovely stay - the location is amazing right by the Falls of Shin where you can watch the salmon leaping! There are lots of trails nearby plus some amazing day trip options. The pod was great and private and had all the essentials needed. Highly recommend!

Great location
Perfect location if you looking for peaceful break . Central location to key points of north highlands including the coastline. Surrendered by woodland strings and waterfalls. The pod could have a better bathroom and separate toilet. It’s very small , smaller that on pictures may appear. However that wasn’t a problem for us as we spent time outdoors exploring magnificent Highlands.

Small but well formed
My husband and I stayed at this pod mid August. The owners had made a real effort to ward off the midges with outdoor fans. The pod is very small with not much room to hang things etc or move about so is suitable for a one or two night stay. Please note you have to provide your own bedding and towels which we weren't aware of before setting off - our fault.

5 Star Pod with peace & quiet
A beautiful 'Glamping Pod' providing immaculately clean facilities with a great location to explore the area and easy access to The NC500. Our 3 nights gave us a proper get away from it break and we could have happily stayed longer. Thoroughly recommended, Ash & Jo

Lovely central pod for nc500
Great stay in an ideal location for nc500 basecamp. Quiet and quaint …..really enjoyed our stay and the fans at the door were great to stop the midges. Managed to get a bit of sunshine and sit outside. No complaints , only recommendation would be a bin outside the property . Had to fill a bin bag at the door and take it down to the bin which is shared with the adjacent cottage. This was not an issue however the bin was already full when we arrived which meant we had to walk around to the the big bins at the falls of shin centre. A small pedal bin inside cottage but a trash can outside the cottage we could have put a bag in would have been ideal .

Cosy, self-contained pod in a beautiful, secluded location
Had an amazing time discovering wild Sutherland from the Falls of Shin pod, with easy company from the resident song birds and red squirrels. Centrally located with lots of options for forest walks, salmon spotting, Munro-climbing or even a swim in the Atlantic. The hosts were helpful but not intrusive and we'd highly recommend a meal in the Pier at Lairg, delicious!

Great little haven
We stayed for 3 nights here as part of a trip of the highlands and it was possibly our favourite part. The glamping pod is one of the best we’ve stayed in with a proper bed and toilet and shower facilitates all In your pod with you. Lairg is a great base for exploring the northern highlands (we did the east right round to the west coast in a (albeit very long) day!). Falls of Shin is right next to the pod and it was amazing seeing the salmon on their journey upstream. The modern visitor centre is also well worth a wee look while you’re there. We stopped in for a drink and it was lovely and covid safe. We can also endorse the recommendation given of the Pier restaurant which even had vegan options for us, which hasn’t always been easy this far north! Last but not least, on our second night we were lucky enough to have a pine marten pay our doorstep a visit to enjoy some of the seeds our hosts provided for us to help attract some of the local wildlife. All in all a wonderful stay and would fully recommend this gorgeous glamping pod to anyone visiting the northern highlands!

Perfection
The perfect base with extra attention to detail to explore the beautiful highlands. Cosy, comfortable, clean and exactly what it says on the online listing. There is nothing the owners haven’t thought off, everything you could need for the perfect self catering pod. We felt safe and very happy staying here. Very reasonably priced and just the perfect break away. Thank you so much :)

A hidden gem
Wonderful stay had at the Glen Cottage pod. The pod itself is just superb with all the modern nic nacs required . We were lucky with the weather and had a day just chilling in our own area at the picnic bench watching the visiting birds and enjoying the peace and quiet. Great location for exploring for beautiful scenery. Easily recommend.

Glamping pod
My boyfriend and I were looking for a secluded getaway in nature and the glamping pod certainly seemed to fit the bill. The pod is located in the backyard of a cottage that is rented out separately and very close to the Shin Falls Community project. Due to COVID-19, there were not a lot of people there, however,I suspect that the numbers would usually be higher and we could certainly hear people walking the trails near the pod. Unfortunately, I found the mattress in the pod to be very uncomfortable and was unable to sleep through any of the seven nights we were there. My boyfriend fared a little better but it was not the relaxation we had hoped for. Some of the cleaning materials are kept in the pod as well and there is no option to store items that are not needed (e.g. microwave, vacuum). We would have liked more than one roll of toilet paper and a few trash bags. Independently of the pod itself and never having been to Scotland before, we also had not appreciated the full impact of the midges and so were unable to spend much time outside unless there was enough wind or sunshine to keep them away. Even the Buzz Off seems to only mildly irritate them.
