Welcome to Valley Cabin! This home was built utilizing beetle-kill lodge pole pine salvaged from the local mountains. It sits on 21 acres of alfalfa farm ground with a 360 degree view of mountains. It is often frequented by whitetail deer and other native wildlife. Hand hewn and beautifully crafted; it is meticulously scribed with Swedish scope and saddle notched methods.
The Great Room boasts a 22 foot tall cathedral ceiling. The full kitchen includes ample counter space. A stunning handcrafted log bar centered between the kitchen and dining area draws your attention. The master bedroom is a spacious 20x20 feet with cathedral ceilings and a gas stove to give you a warm glow after a day outdoors. This room includes queen, full and twin size beds. Store your gear in the large entry closet. The laundry room has a washer, dryer and tub sink. A full bath rounds out the custom circular design of the main floor.
A log stairway leads up to an open balcony sitting area with three bedrooms providing a dormer style charm and includes a full bathroom. Two rooms have queen sized beds, and a third has a full sized bed.
There are two outdoor decks: one off the kitchen with a gas BBQ grill, and one facing southwest to relax in the sun and enjoy the view of the Spanish and Hyalite peaks. Enjoying the sunset from here with a beverage after experiencing the great outdoors is highly recommended.
This property is conveniently located only 15 minutes from the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport. The greater Bozeman area boasts a wide variety of amenities. This includes dining, shopping, many micro-breweries/distilleries and coffee shops. Visit exhibits at the Smithsonian-affiliated Museum of the Rockies, check out the historic Ellen Theater or stroll the Montana State University campus.
Located between Big Sky Resort and Bridger Bowl ski area makes skiing the “cold smoke” easy, or enjoy the many hiking trails. There are four Blue Ribbon trout rivers close by. Less than 100 miles to the north and west entrance of Yellowstone National Park makes for great wildlife and geothermal viewing. Other local attractions include the Lewis and Clark State Park and Caverns, or check out ghost towns and gold panning at Virginia City and Bannock State Park. Local hot springs and great public golf courses abound.
The owners live on property in a lovely hand-crafted caretaker’s cottage. They have been married and lived in the area for almost 40 years. They have a wealth of local knowledge to share with you.
