Overall we had an enjoyable stay at Village Hotel and would recommend it. We stayed in room 331. However, there were a few things we thought could be improved... - we couldn't get any heat out of the heating system. Even looked up controls on the internet as there weren't any in the room. It just blew cold air or didn't work at all. - we struggled to get hot water out the shower in the morning and at night - the full flush on the toilet did not work - didnt like the pillows - better ventilation needed in the bathroom as the mirror steams up quickly - better lighting needed in car park and spaces need improving as they aren't level in places

Great staff, particularly check in staff and Marua at the bar and Berni( Bernadette ) in the restaurant this morning! The cleanef Toyin was lovely! ! Our room 317 was Fab! My friends ‘rokm was 168 and thryvwere not impressed with the level of dust in their room nir bit of uncleaned areas.
Great to have usb points, good quality bed as well as good twin bed

I was unable to sleep due to the road noise penetration through the window. The room was clean and well laid out. Large TV in the room. Hotel is also conveniently located next to a supermarket.

The staff's hand hygiene in the hotel restaurant was not up to par compared to what I have observed in other establishments recently. The employees attempted to clean the tables by spraying a cleaning solution over the leftover cutlery and then left the area. They also pushed down the rubbish in bins using their hands, and after that, they picked up napkins and returned to the same table. They folded the napkins and placed the cutlery back on the table, all while leaving chemical residue on the items. On my second night, after spending the whole day out and having eaten earlier, I went to the bar to order a serving of chips. It took 40 minutes for my order to arrive, and when it did, the chips were soggy. The chef was at the bar, so I approached him to explain the issue. He waved his hand and directed me to speak with a bar staff member. Unfortunately, that staff member was unhelpful and simply said they would exchange the chips for me. It seems there is a lack of proper training for employees on how to communicate and engage with customers, as there was no apology offered. While it may have been just chips, the staff could benefit from better training in customer service. I don't plan to visit the village hotel again.
