Disappointing...
The location is great, but the unit is quite dated and needs some simple maintenance and updates. But the most disappointing part was what happened on the second morning of our 3-night stay. There was a knock on the door around 10am and as I started to open it, the lock turned and someone started to come in. The guy looked surprised and said "Oh, sorry. They told us it was vacant." He turned around and left and I called the property management company to ask how/why someone else had a valid door code during our stay. They were great and responded appropriately with assurances that they'd investigate. A few minutes later they called to say that it was the unit's owner. Apparently he thought he could just drop by whenever he wants. I own a vacation rental property and the management companies all have apps or websites where owners can check availability but I guess this guy didn't bother checking and then he lied to my face with the "They told me it was vacant" line. They had NOT received a call from him; he was acting solo. Very uncool. So rent this place if you want, but be prepared for the owner to just drop by when he feels like it. Or better yet, rent one of the other units in the same building managed by Great Western Lodging. They were great.
