The staff was amazing! From the front desk to the Sicilian man in restaurant, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Food and location were great too. Highly recommend!”
Only downside the window in our room was in need of repair and could not be secured which was unsettling as it lead on to a flat roof.

Disliked: Room comfort
The staff were lovely could not fault them what so ever. However the bed was so uncomfortable prongs popping up everywhere and rock hard, we could hear the people next door talking and then upstairs you could hear everything from the room even when they turned in the bed to them flushing the toilet. The WiFi is absloutley rubbish so don't go over thinking you can connect alot of stuff is blocked I.e whass up is one.
The breakfast was really nice and we were always greeted by the morning staff they couldn't do enough for us
Excellent staff, incredible food, wonderful building with well presented rooms and a fantastic view from the restaurant over the terrace, gardens and river. Extremely civilised, pleasant, comfortable, and restful
We booked a double room for two nights and were very comfortable here. We had a very large room with fantastic views. The hotel is only a few minutes walk to the town and an excellent base for exploring the area. Would definitely stay here again.

AVERAGE PROPERTY OVERPRICED STAFF WERE VERY HELPFUL
Hotel is in a good location in Brecon & is unique with the castle attached.
What I would like to see more of is the rooms being refurbished and modernised with a higher standard of cleaniness: the bathroom had water stains on the ceiling & cobwebs, hairs in the shower...

Very good base camp for Brecon town.
Lovely old hotel that probably seen better days but so have most independents. Ideal situation for the town. We had a view room that cost but it was well worth it, the bed was so comfy . The reception was a bit unproffesional, I was concerned that we had lost our reservation for the second time. But all that said we would defiantly return... the breakfast waitress "Sue" was the one that made us feel welcome, frankly without her the morning visits would have been miserable... oh and the breakfasts were cooked to perfection so well done the chef.... I recommend this hotel for your stsy in Brecon.
Need to look at the superior room rating - the bedroom was ok but the bathroom was small and the shower so tiny my husband couldn't use it. Mold around shower tray and door. no plug in sink, the bathroom could do with a refurb The reception staff were unhelpful when I reported the bathroom radiator was not working and it was a very cold day - I was told that I had checked in at the wrong time (Saturday 5:30 pm) as maintenance was not available and nothing could get done until the Monday !!!!! I tried ringing reception but no one answered do I had to go down to desk - they said they were too busy to answer the phone.I also reported that the TV was hanging off its wall bracket and looked unsafe but nothing was done. I had to to take a shower the following morning in an icy bathroom and got very chilled. On checking out the following morning I said I was disappointed that my concerns were not taken seriously and that basic maintenance checks would have shown the problems in the room but the reception staff said that maintenance checks were not regularly undertaken. Would not stay there again - very disappointed with attitude of staff and felt that they couldn't be bothered.
Hotel was nice enough. It’s a great location and we had wonderful view from the room. Some aspects of the service we received could be improved. The reception staff were not very friendly and no one asked us if we enjoyed our stay.
At breakfast they seemed to often run out of items on the buffet
Experience was overall pretty good, most staff polite and very helpful, breakfast was very good, hotel location excellent. The water pressure in the shower was very low and car parking was occasionally a bit tight.
