I booked a standard room. It was a good stay. I stayed during corona times with the lockdown still in place. Dinner options were nice, ordered tartar. Also reasonably good breakfast, a choice of croissants, bread, cheese and meats. The room was nice and comfortable. Convenient location to walk around the city center. Parking in a paid facility, priced at 16 eur per night.
Recently refurbished hotel with spacious and clean rooms. The hotel is in a nice area, close to the centre and the canal quai with its restaurants. The hotel staff were friendly and email communication prior to the stay was good as well. The hotel breakfast was good for the price paid. I wish there was some way to reduce the amount of plastic waste during breakfast, but I understand that during Corona times this may be difficult. The only thing I would change is the light in the room. The lightbulbs are too dim, so sometimes the room was a bit too dark. Other than that, our stay was perfect :)
The service was outstanding.
Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Location was convenient as well.
Only downside:
- no parking at hotel, paid parking at 2min walk
- limited vegetarian options at the breakfast
Stayed here during the bs covid restrictions for a surgery at the nearby wellness kliniek and it was perfect! Staff was extremely friendly, snack bar had an awesome selection, and the restaurant was great. Room was also beautiful and modern. Hotel is also in a good location with walking access to shops and cafes. Will definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Belgium.
This is a difficult time for hotels, but many have adapted.
There’s been little effort here. Understaffed reception meant queues and a risk to social distancing.
They still had a crowded buffet breakfast where you had to touch the same milk bottles or juice dispensers where other hotels have made an effort to keep people at the tables.
The HI crew need to take a look at how other, better run, hotels have adapted during Covid. All this one has done has increased its pricing to a luxury level but not invested in service or processes.
Very easy and smooth check in, helpful member of reception team.
Only downside was housekeeping entering the room 3 hours before check out while still sleeping
