Nice Lakefront Studio Cabin
Pros: The location was great and the view of the lake was beautiful. That and the cabin being pet friendly was our reason for staying here. The size was perfect for two. It was really nice having the Keurig and washer and dryer. Host was very responsive and tried to resolve the heating issue below and we are very thankful for this! He did reimburse us for the cost of a portable heater. Now some cons: The freezer did not work but the just did send us a note the day before. The heated floors in the bathroom advertised were not connected or did not work. The main gas heater did not work, the pilot would not stay lit. The low that first night was 30 and the cabin was really chilly even though we were using the two portable heaters that were there. It was late in the day and the only solution was for us to go to the store and purchase another heater which was inconvenient after traveling that day. The handrail down the path to the cabin was shaky and coming apart in places and the path down just needs cleared. There was also a lot of dust on the ceiling fan and beams. Just a FYI, The bed is a Murphy bed and the mattress is very firm. Not terrible but too hard for me. There are two parking spots but it is narrow so just be aware for when you are pulling in and out. Overall I think it just needs a little TLC. We enjoyed being able to visit our family in the area and see the fall colors at Kensington which was only a few miles away.

Clean little property with a few nice bells and whistles
Property has pretty much everything you need and even a few neat features like heated floor in the bathroom and remote control ceiling fan. The murphy bed could use some extra cushion but wasnt bad. Overall nice stay and caught plenty of fish in Briggs Lake from one of the provided SUPs.

Beautiful lake, great host, quaint cottage
The host and lake were fantastic. The property itself is also very nice, but renter should be well aware that it is certainly more of a decked out studio cottage than a lake house. All of the amenities are up to date, though there is no oven and fridge is small (freezer was not functioning while we were there). The lake is clean and water was warm in August. Great for swimming. Paddle board, kayak. Neighbors are friendly. Fire pit at sunset with fishing and cold drink was awesome. 25 min drive if you want to go into Ann Arbor for dinner one night. I would stay here again if I were looking for a small cottage for a quick weekend getaway. I believe the price was fair for the quaint cottage setup.

cottage with peaceful lakefront views
My husband and I stayed here for 3 weeks. The property is lakefront, which is excellent. We kayaked almost everyday after work. It is a sight to see during sunset. I recommend this place for a quick weekend trip. It’s not great for longer stays. For example, the kitchen is lacking an oven/toaster oven despite their being baking pans. Other essentials like measuring cups are missing so cooking is tough. You’ll likely want to eat out in Brighton. Also, this place is a true cottage so things will break, leak, and work inconsistently but that won’t be as noticeable during a shorter stay. The neighbors are friendly and the lake is very peaceful. Plus the owners supply the property with little essentials like qtips and beach towels which makes life easier. This spot is dog friendly which is fantastic. We brought our dog but beware if bringing a senior dog or if you have physical limitations, the steps to/from the cottage can be wobbly and steep. Otherwise, we had good communication with the host and he sent someone right away when something broke.

Amazingly quiet and beautiful
The cottage was beautiful and clean. The outdoor space was great as well. The kids had to be very careful not to hurt themselves on the debris on either side of the property in the water. Easily avoided if you see them first. We had an incredible time. Thank you for the use of kayaks and paddle boards.

The Best of Briggs Lake
This place is amazing and a great reason to visit the area. It was THE perfect place to stay. Lakefront, with million-dollar views. Quiet neighborhood with walking/jogging trails. The studio is well-appointed with a comfy bed, comfortable furniture, full kitchen with mini fridge and freezer. Full-size W/D tucked in the bathroom. Great wifi and ample amount of TV channel selections. Plenty of towels including beach towels. Stand-up paddle boards and two kayaks. What a wonderful way to start or end the day. We enjoyed roasting marshmallows and sipping wine around the bonfire too. Had our breakfast on the deck. Close to Brighton for supplies or a meal. Be sure to stop at Clean Slate for a unique experience of homemade ice cream flavors. My husband and I agree, that this cottage will be our go-to when visiting Michigan. Thank you, Daniel, for opening your cottage to us. Until next time.

Wonderful lake cottage, beautifully decorated! We enjoyed our stay so much, as we were able to relax on the deck and at the lake front fire pit. Catching a lot of fish and the paddle boards also added to the fun. Thank you again to the property owners for sharing a slice of their paradise! GO BLUE!
