There is also a private trail to the beach with great tidepools and wildlife. There are other residences on the property. However, this is a stand alone building with no residences attached.

Our stay was interrupted by car trouble. I called Ken to see if there were guests after us. Ken was so kind to send his son-in-law, plus he called a friend to come and help us. Getaway to the coast
Home was older, but clean and had a private trail down to a nice beach. A couple of minor issues were resolved quickly by the host, such as replacing an old DVD player. Overall a great location that we would love to return to.

Location, Location, Location!!!
Ken & Jean are the best of host. Although the hot tub was not operational during our stay, they made other concessions that more than made up for it. We wanted for nothing during our 11 day stay, and with the most comfortable King size bed, we both have never slept better. Thank you, Ken & Jean, for your hospitality and privacy while enjoying your property. Many thanks!

Clean and quiet
This was our 3rd time staying here. The unit was clean and comfortable as always. Easy check in. Pretty disappointed to find the hot tub out of order. No fault of the owner, just my bad luck. We were able to use the one at the main house, but not nearly as convenient. Nice quiet area and beach and only a short drive to town. Nice stay overall.

Brookings beach exploration
We used Ken’s place to explore and hike to several of the amazing beaches in southern Oregon. Then when we discovered how close we were to the Redwoods, we made a short jaunt into California as well. We slept well and used the kitchen for most of our meals. We also used the hot tub. Some if the jets aren’t functioning properly, but it was fun to sit out in it under the stars. The beach was disappointing because it was so covered in seaweed and sea debris (not Ken’s fault we know), you couldn’t reallly walk the beach without stepping all over it. We tried it once, then stuck to Harris beach and others. The couch could use an update as we both struggled to get up when sitting on it. Our favorite part of the stay was we were allowed to bring our well behaved golden retriever.

Great location and Super Affordable!
Thank you for sharing your rental with us. We loved the walk to the beach and that we were able to bring our fur baby. The bed was super comfortable. It was very nice having the gas BBQ, we stayed four nights and used it every night. We gifted a grill cleaner brush for other guest to use. We would return again and recommend to others!

Bittersweet
This is a hard review to write but I need to write it. My Mom and I stayed here last year and there were some cleanliness issues then, but we were hoping they would be resolved, so we gave it another chance this year. Unfortunately it was worse this year. The unit was very dirty upon arrival. The kitchen floor was filthy, it had not been swept or mopped (crumbs and coffee splatters on the floor), the unit hadn't been dusted in quite some time (hair and thick layers of dust on coffee tables and bedroom side tables, there were large stains on the area rug upon entry, dog hair on the bed, the hot tub was grimy and murky and cold. We went to wash some bath towels in the on site laundry room, as there were only 3 towels left for us for a week stay for 2 people and there were moldy wet towels in the dryer. We found out a day into our stay that the owners weren't in the state, they were on vacation, and we were told by their daughter that they didn't check their VRBO emails ( we reached out about the cold hot tub via VRBO and didn't hear back), and they didn't text. Daughter showed up in the evening one night without knocking on our door to check the temp of the hot tub, just walked by and lifted the cover w/o even identifying who she was and why she was there. Everything about our stay was awkward and uncomfortable.
