Second worst VRBO for me
The rental service answered my calls and e-mails. The cable or Davao player worked and they said they would send someone and no one ever showed up. We bought our own DVD player in Sylva. The kitchen drawers had rodent droppings in them and there were mice in the house. I told the rental company and they told me they would contact their pest control service. The cabin is not thoroughly cleaned. The floor wipes up black and needs to be mopped badly. The shower doors and track have mold and mildew. Also, no tread in the porcelain tub so be careful. My wife fell in the shower the last night. Also, the oven decided it wanted to give up the last night we were there. We had to do sandwiches. There were no trout thag I could find. Make sure you look at trout stocking dates and locations. The neighbor told me they stock the stream in March. He told me the group of guys before us fished their entire stay and only caught three trout. This property is a tie with another awful VRBO in D.C. whose ad was misleading and the place was filthy. I think we will only rent from legit people from now on. Lastly, a lot of what I said was repeated over and over in the book in the cabin that renters write about their experiences. The cabin is worth 90-100 a night. Just because you packed beds in doesn’t mean it’s worth the money being charged. They do have more cooking dishes and pans than I have seen most places which was great until the oven broke.

Unplugged from the world.
Rustic, just the place you need for unplugging and getting away from the world and reconnect with family. No cell service. This was expected. Complaints Phone line did not work. Porch could use some maintenance.

The cabin was definitely cuter than the posted pictures. However the fireplace didnt work neither did any of the tvs, and 2 eyes of the stove didnt work. It was a good little place to escape and unplug for a bit

It was good
It was a good place to stay. It needs a deep cleaning, spiderwebs and dirty windows. Maybe some internet. 😜 All our problems where resolved immediately . Power outage all along Alarka Rd. It could use a folder on how things work. Like that fireplace. We would stay again.

Cabin along the trout stream!
Exactly what we were looking for. End of lane privacy. Plenty of space for family. No internet or cell service! So if you want to get away from it all-this is a great place.

Great place to disconnect
Great Location, no trick photography the creek actually runs that close to the house. The sound of the water at night made for a great nights sleep, the creek during the day made for hours of fun fishing and playing, and the creekside fire pit made a great gathering place in the evening. Close enough to Bryson City to get the things we needed, but far enough to disconnect. The house needs a few minor repairs and the cleaners could pay a little more attention to detail, but other than that it was perfect. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

No contact with outside world
No wi-fi, nor cell phone service, there was a phone but didn't have dial tone (we didn't mind, but the listing did not mention it) Found socks & underwear in between couch pillows and one of the beds Other than that cabin is great, it's a delightful creek, full of rocks and fish I would definitely stay there again

We all enjoyed our stay, here’s a few items that need to be addressed in the house. The house had a musty odor, cobwebs everywhere, something in upstairs bath is leaking down in king bedroom. Also the deck over the water has come a loose from stairs. The house is an interesting house that needs a little tlc! Thank you! Have a great day.

We love the cabin and the creek, but it was too dirty specially the floor and we found some spider webs inside the cabin, and I highly recommend to have Wi-Fi on it because the cabin is on a dead sone where you don't have signal for cell phone,

Beautiful cabin and creek. So many wonderful memories were made!
We had a great time. Our kids played in the creek for hours everyday. We had s’mores around the fire, and the adults got to sit back and relax. It was everything we wanted for our summer vacation. Also the people at Yellow Rose Realty, were awesome. Everyone was helpful and genuinely kind and friendly. Our only issues were in the kitchen, the appliances could use an update. I had to wake up at 6:00 every morning to preheat the oven because it took an hour and 15 minutes to preheat the oven and it wouldn’t stay preheated more than 375 degrees. So, every time we cooked it was time consuming and a bit stressful. The dishes in the cabinets were dirty when we got there, so we hand washed them, no big deal. But, as we were putting up our first load from the dish washer we realized the dishwasher was not working properly because they were still dirty too. So, we hand washed dishes for 10 people all week, which was not exactly what I wanted to do on vacation. Also, there were a total of 3 dish towels and rags. So after washing and drying every pot, pan and dish after each meal, the towels were soaked and had to be washed & dried before the next use. Everything else was perfect. We are looking forward for another vacation in the mountains.

Outdoor surroundings are beautiful. Cabin itself was not.
We loved the creek access although there really was no fishing to be had. Based on the guest book in the house, other guests said the same. The house itself was outdated. Outdoor grill was rusted, there is no wi-fi and we could not receive incoming calls for some reason. The bathroom upstairs only accommodates small children as the shower head rests at about 5 feet from the floor. The foosball table was missing the balls and the only other indoor activity besides tv was a puzzle missing over 30 pieces. The heater ran well and the fireplace was also nice to have. Overall, I would not chose to stay here again.
