It is an excellent colonial style property, beautiful Taj ambiance, well maintained lawns, great dining options and exceptional service from ALL staff. Arijeet at Junction x, Rajesh in housekeeping, and Anirban at Cal 27 consistently went over and beyond. The hotel carpet and certain other furnishings need urgent remodeling, but there was nothing else that I can fault.

The Oasis & Gem of Calcutta
If you’re coming to Calcutta for pleasure to have long days of sight-seeing, eating, and walking for hours through this amazing dense city, the Taj will the perfect oasis to come back to I had a fantastic stay for 4 days and besides the beautiful rooms, restaurants, and lovely..endless breakfasts, it’s the staff and their care to ensure you have a wonderful stay as well as to help you get whatever you need and wherever you go. Special thanks to Samaritan Nandi and the fun & friendly Bimal. Thank you and I will be back.

We highly enjoyed our second stay at the Taj Bengal hotel. The hotel is very beautiful, the food is delicious, and the staff treats us like family!! We are very grateful for Sanjeeb Ghosh who has now made both of our stays here so special. We love him he fulfills all our requests and even brings our boys special treats! Mr. Ghosh and Suraj Thakur at the travel desk had a very prompt response to our needs, excellent organization, and efficient solutions. Our baggage was lost after a delayed flight and they both worked very hard along with Taj’s excellent airport concierge to recover everything quickly and promptly and delivered our bags to us with grace and ease. We absolutely love this hotel and their care for their guests and will be back for a third visit soon ! Also Rao who drives for Taj is incredible and he goes out of his way always to help us in whatever that may be , he’s a fantastic driver !

This was an excellent stay for us. The rooms were very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They used to clean our rooms twice a day which was brilliant. The swimming pool facilities were very good as well. We got an airport pick up as a part of our room package. The transport provided was very good.

Everything was exceptional. We appreciated the upgrade at 5am in the morning. Raja was wonderful for showing us around and securing goggles for us for the beautiful swimming pool. Everyone was wonderful. Food was great and rooms beautiful. Truly exceptional.

We had an excellent 2 day stay. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. We had the breakfast buffet which was very good although being Indian the masala chai did not hit the mark for me, otherwise everything else was excellent. They really try to ensure you have a good stay.

The food quality was not at all up to the luxury hotel stamdard.Street and small outside restaurants serve better food than this.Food menus is very small and unappealing.The food didn't taste up to the par.It is very oily and not appetizing at all. The "Chai and Jhalmori " served was stale and not at all the luxury hotel standard. Overall very bad food being served is not edible at all during any time of the day.
