The Space:
Riesling Cabin by Tiny Away is located in the rural area of Burnham - South Island New Zealand, just 30 minutes from Christchurch, passed by Rolleston. Rolleston is famous for its thriving community, modern amenities, and convenient access to nearby recreational areas and attractions.
The Pedal Pusher at Rolleston is a great stop for a bite to eat. If you're up for a scenic drive, head to Christchurch to indulge in outdoor excitement at Christchurch Adventure Park, and wander through the breathtaking Christchurch Botanic Gardens.
Its strategic location offers breathtaking vistas of the vineyard and captivating sunsets, setting the scene for a serene evening as the night unfolds. A cozy 139-square-foot tiny home with ample parking available for vehicles, along with a small mound and a pond nearby.
Complete with easy water access, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas-heated for hot showers).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please be advised that we are a working vineyard with grazing sheep on-site, carefully managed in a designated vineyard area under our supervision. As a result, you may encounter sheep droppings in certain areas during certain times of the year.
Additionally, a second tiny home, Vintners Retreat , is on the same property. For group bookings, please contact your land host 24 hours in advance.
Guest Access:
NOTICE TO ALL GUESTS: This tiny home is semi off-grid and operates on solar energy. We kindly request that guests conserve energy throughout the day and use it only when necessary to prevent potential power outages.
- Guests will have access to the tiny home and are welcome to roam the vineyard.
- We will notify guests in advance of any working vineyard activities, such as tractor operations or other machinery.
- Restricted areas will be marked or explained in your accommodation along with the reasons for the restrictions.
- We strongly advise guests to exercise caution around the water race and pond, especially if they are with children.
- For guests arriving during our hours of operation, please come to the cellar door where you will be shown the location of the Tiny House. For guests arriving after hours, we will provide a map to follow and put up signs to guide you to the tiny home.
- Summer Hours are 9:00 am - 6.30 pm
- Winter Hours are 10:00 am - 5.00pm ( May, June & July )

Getting Around:
By car:
From Christchurch we are 20 - 30 mins and similar for the Airport as well, 2WD is fine
By public transport:
Their is a bus to Rolleston, Burnham & Lincoln and also Uber has quite a few drivers in the area and a couple of private shuttles.
Other Things to Note:
- Pets are not allowed
- The Tiny House is a semi-off-grid unit
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Children are welcome under CLOSE ADULT SUPERVISION
- No Smoking allowed inside the tiny home, except in designated areas
- We offer farm-fresh eggs for breakfast with prior notice from the host
- Vodafone, 2degrees, and Spark have good signals; the rest have no signal at all
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge.
- We have a designated area for waste management, where rubbish, recyclables, and any food scraps suitable for our hens can be disposed of separately.
Important note:
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property
- Keep in mind that BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the cassette toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
