The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful (although I've found that to be true everywhere I've stayed in Egypt). For that reason alone, I wish I could rate this hotel higher.
But I also feel mislead in staying here, and don't want to mislead others. The truth is, this is just NOT a 4-star hotel.
I stayed at 3 hotels in Egypt; this one was the most expensive, but had the smallest and least well maintained room. The 3-star hotel I stayed at in Giza was actually much nicer than this "4-star" hotel, and at only a third of the cost.
I booked this room wanting an upgrade for my last night in Cairo. Unfortunately, what I got was a downgrade at 3x's the price. I regretted my decision.
The room was:
‐ small
- stains on the bed headboard
- stains on the chair
- shower drains so slowly water is above your ankles after 4 minutes
- generally run-down, with the wall showing water damage
- has a balcony, but the view is just some old run-down looking apartment buildings. The right side balcony door doesn’t lock shut.
- no restaurant at the hotel, although staff will deliver breakfast for you ($9 USD per person), and help order lunch/dinner delivery for you.
On the positive side, it's close (10 min walk, maybe less) to Arabella Plaza, which was really nice.
Again, the staff were great! But, unfortunately, this is a 3-star hotel that should be priced much cheaper than it is. I didn't complain to the staff about it, it's not their fault and theres nothing they can do about it
