Some of the warmest service I’ve had throughout the world. I especially enjoyed my suite. The property’s offer to pick me up from the airport was much appreciated. All of the staff were very kind and helpful from check in to breakfast and departure.
The property is let down by the area it is in. This is not within the hotel’s direct control, however the owners could perhaps get together with the owners of other buildings and fix this. The street it is on looks like a bomb has hit it. The proximity of the hotel to this street is worth mentioning as much as its proximity to the museum and it will be important to travellers.
Ultimately, while I felt unsafe accessing the immediate area around the hotel, the hotel itself and particularly the suite room provided a sanctuary from all of that. I’m an experienced solo traveller so I was able to deal with it, however the area would need to look a lot cleaner in order for me to return. In addition, the hotels own escalator requires refurbishment. The room itself was kept very clean.
The pyramids could indeed be seen from the rooftop view and from the room and it made a great base to get an Uber to see these sites directly. I wouldn’t say the pyramid complex is walkable (it’s just very big so you can see it from where you are) but the museum provided a nice 20 minute walk.
