The owner, Simric, went out of his way to tailor our stay and tour to our needs, including picking us up in Khayelitsha, introducing us to a local poet and a local playwright, and taking us to an artisan food market. The breakfast, brought in the morning by Carrey, was excellent. And they had brought in a second heater as some of the winter nights were quite cold.
The room has an alarm system, and we felt safe walking to the False Bay train station, a leisurely ten-minute walk away. Three stations away is Kalk Bay, where there are plenty of options for fine dining at a reasonable cost.
