Distinctly average stay. Welcome at reception was frosty to say the least. When I explained that I believed I had paid for the Spa pool and leisure facilities, I was told that I hadn’t and if I disagreed I would have to contact Expedia. Not reception. Receptionist was very curt and aloof. Not great when there are other guests waiting to check in behind you.
Sunday lunch was a travesty. Waiters and waitresses spilling food over guests. They were clearly inexperienced with a lack of training. Lunch itself was below par. The sirloin of beef was stringy and unable to cut without a steak knife which wasn’t provided. Yorkshire pudding was filled with shredded beef. I wasn’t expecting that and I suggest that Yorkshire Puddings should not be altered by a chef in any way, shape or form. Gravy was diluted, tepid, dishwater.
Breakfast was another treat, a mediocre buffet of “Welsh” breakfast, luke warm and served in what resembled an almost full to capacity cattle market! For this gastronomic delight I was charged £56! Wetherspoons would have been a much better choice. I wished to complain on the day, however my partner asked me not to in case we were asked to leave. Second time staying here, second time I have left disappointed. There won’t be a third.
