When we first saw this hotel, we were quite concerned that we picked a ringer. The building looked old and it was in the middle of the city. Instead, the owner ran out to open the gate to the parking lot, and helped us to get our bags inside. There is no elevator and rooms are at least two full flights up. Other than that inconvenience, the room was very nice, and comfortable. The next morning, breakfast was in a room with a live fireplace. The food presentation was outstanding. At all times, the owner/manager was available.
The owner made several suggestions for dinner, all within walking distance, and one of his suggestions turned out to be our best meal of the trip.
If you can get passed the facade, you're in for a great stay, in an excellent location.
