Charlottesville is really taking a turn in the wrong direction with a staggering increase in its homeless population. Many street corners seem to be riddled with not only vagrants, but people with drug afflictions and mental health issues ( schizophrenia, uncontrolled verbal and physical outbursts, etc.). Doesn’t feel safe walking through the downtown areas. (Likely exacerbated by the political atmosphere in the region).
We did not feel this at the Country Inn, but we were a little concerned with the accessibility of our vehicles to the outside issues. Other than that, the hotel staff and accommodations were better than expected and we would recommend staying here. Staff was friendly, room and common areas were very clean. Didn’t need anything as the room was adequately supplied with proper back up items, etc. People hanging out, families playing games, and having a good time on a rainy night in the main room. Very cozy and comfortable feeling. Would definitely stay here again.
