Very good

Spa was not cleaned from one day to the next. Changing rooms and showers were dirty. Refills of shampoo and shower gel just left on floor and empty bottles were left on wall. Breakfast was good. Hotel was tired but clean.
Rowton Hall is set in a quiet area within some lovely grounds. The rooms are spacious but very hot and uncomfortable due to the temperature. Little ventilation due to the windows only being able to open slightly. There was no airconditioning only a fan. The hot water in the bathroom was boiling hot and care had to be taken when using it. My kettle didnt work in my room which I didnt discover until the morning. The veiw from my window was awful. The hotel needs some updating especially in the corridors leading to the rooms. I was looking forward to my stay but overall I was dissapointed with my room.
Stay was nice and room very nice, but breakfast options la were limited without paying a £5 supplement in things like avocado on toast or a full English. When the too was already close to £200 this seems unreasonable.
Setting is lovely, facilities are great and staff were excellent, however room was a let down. Windows looked on to a roof with extractor fans, which were very noisy. Old building, so no air on. Room was super stuffy, so much so it was really difficult to sleep. A fan was provided but this made an awful noise, which made it even more difficult to sleep.

Amazing food and good service. I was disappointed the bar did not have a cocktail menu though and only serves what is on the tap. The room was beautiful although the door and lock could use a refurbish. Also soundproofing to the hallway was bad as many times people knocking or entering doors opposite, or along the hall to me, sounding like it was coming right from my door.
We had used this hotel once before many years ago and found it a really good venue to meet up with family. Can't comment on the spa as its of no interest to us, but we did feel that the hotel is looking a bit tired. Also, our bedroom TV was not working and the manager in charge said there was nothing they could do about it until the next week. Great customer service ! Dinner menu was smaller that we had remembered and staff seemed to have an average age of about 16. Not sure how they would have coped had we asked questions about the wine list. I'm guessing that their main focus is where the money is - Spa weekends, hen parties, weddings etc. Not hugely disappointing but probably won't go back.
Lovely grounds and lovely looking hotel, excellent staff. But the rooms are old fashioned and need brining into the 21st centry. Spa is dirty, sauna was not working, swimming pool room and changing rooms are cold. Everything needs a deep clean.

Needs money spent on it
Sadly the hotel needs some much needed work done to it. The room we had badly needed renovation with a badly worn carpet through to the threads, stained chairs, worn headboard, socket hanging off the wall and bath panel corroded.
This hotel was once immaculate but they now have pet friendly rooms so make sure that you are not in one of those if staying without dogs.
Nice hotel about 10min drive from chester centre.
Beds comfy, nice ala carte breakfast in morning. Pool / spa is superb, one of best i have ever been. Staff really nice. Would recommend
Was a 4-day business trip. We could not get a dog sitter so the dogs had to come along too. The staff made us feel so welcome. Arranging times around our busy schedules. The staff made the stressful 4 days so much easier for us
Smell of drains came up from the bathroom plug whenever someone else rang there tap as well as a gurgling noise . Spoke to reception who said maintaince would attend and didn’t . Doors banged from the early hours of the morning . My rooom
Was dated with marks on all of the walls and the bathroom floor was dirty.
