As a solo traveller, Tri Gong was perfect. The location is ideal as it’s within the old city and close to everything. It is only a 2 star and it is basic, but has everything you need. The hotel can do with an update but that didn’t bother me. I just used the place to sleep and store my stuff. The staff at the reception were polite and there were no problems when checking in and out.

This hotel is in the perfect location of the old city. Easy to walk everywhere. The room is very outdated and small with no windows, but it’s clean and a great price. Only downside is noise from the street and neighbors. Just bring earplugs and you’ll have a great stay. Muffin, the owners dog is also very friendly.

Great little place in north east old town. Walking distance to many great restaurants and bars. Check out the Sunday night market starting at the gate.

Comfortable and quiet, in a great location.
This is a wonderful place to stay. Very clean, and comfortable. In a great location, within the old city. They provide free drinking water, in glass bottles no less. Fantastic.

Basic, a little funky, comfortable. Trigong served our needs very well. We hung the "do not clean" thing on the door and they still left us clean towels and bottles of water - pure class. I would stay there again.

Initially concerned about possible noise level but it went very quiet by 12. Shower was broken/cold but other than that it was very nice room with very helpful staff

I was unimpressed with this place, I was given a room next to reception and told the hotel was full, so no other room. As I could hear everyone walking past, I heard some guests arriving and they asked the manager 'is our room on the ground floor?'.. no he replied, you can have an upstairs room. I asked the manager about this and he said 'no they booked a top floor room'... why then are they asking?? It might seem petty but it always disappoints me, this kind of treatment, it doesn't make you feel very welcome. Add to this, my pillowcases smelt very bad, when I told the manager he said 'the cleaner will change tomorrow ' ..and only then after I kept asking him. Finally, a 'little something' left by a previous guest in the toilet which I found upon my arrival, not surprisingly, I wasn't impressed ! Dirty room and very inconsiderate manager.

cheap place to stay in Chiang Mai
Decent location. Close to many eateries and 7/11. Rooms are clean but dated. A/C is barely working on hot days. It took long time to cool the room also crappy WiFi. most staff are nice but one odd man at the front desk. Has a nice little courtyard for relaxing in. Many temples near by. You can use the red cars to get around or rent a scooter. It's all very convenient within the old city.Also very walkable to the Night Bazaar and Wororot market in chinatown area. I was there during the Loi Kratong festival and enjoyed it very much.

Good hotel near to restaurants and bars.
Second floor rooms have a nice balcony. No meals served but kitchen available for personal use. Coffee free at reception. Literally 10 restaurants and bars within 2 minute walk. All rooms have a large ftidge.

We stayed here for just one night and was impressed by how clean, quiet and well-maintained this place was relative to the price we paid. Its very reasonably priced for hotels in the old city, and the free parking was a big draw for us. Just like most places inside the Old City, its near tons of restaurants, massage parlors and other amenities. The hotel is run by a father and son. The father helped us arrange a taxi to the airport for very early morning through a friend of his. Very kind of him. They also allowed us early check-in once the rooms were cleaned.

Fantastic location , lovely street with character. Great restaurants and bars all around for breakfast. Could not have asked for more. And tour place across the road for booking onward transport , fantastic !

Hi We had a great time at the tri-gong hotel the owner was very helpful the location was quite but 15-20 meters from several bars & restaurants We are a family of four 2 adults & 5.5 + 11 childrens The hotel is located 15 min from the night bazaar & 15 min from the Zoo & 15 min from the air port & 7 min from Sunday walking market
