Major disappointment relative to my expectations of a Fairmont and a 5-star hotel. Furniture in public areas as well as guest room and showing serious wear and tear, basic comforts such as bottled water and creamer for coffee not provided (they have small packets of the powdered stuff). The room description of “water views or striking park views” is egregiously misleading and false. The one restaurant at the hotel was closed due to some reorganization and the lounge had very limited food options, especially for vegetarians. For breakfast, no alternative was provided except for a limited array and quantity of baked goods and poor quality coffee. The shower had poor water pressure…. Overall depressing, unjustifiably expensive and not recommended. The staff did go to lengths to try to mitigate the situation but much of it was beyond their control. We cut our stay short.

Property is in a perfect geographical location to the riverwalk, millennium park, navy peir and shopping on Michigan Ave. There is a nutella store a short 6-7 minute walk on Michigan Ave.

Everything was good. The only issue we have is when the AC felt a bit warm even when it was set on 60 middle of the night. Otherwise, no complaints! Benjamin, who works outside front area were awesome. He was very friendly and funny!!!

It’s a nice location, only 8 minute walk to The Bean. Nice property although room furniture looked a bit old. The room was quite clean. The staff were all very polite and helpful. I would not recommend the breakfast but it is fine for a quick continental.

Given that this is a Fairmont hotel, we were surprised at the lack of amenities that the hotel offered. No restaurants or shops were available. The only way to get food in the middle of the afternoon was room service. Check-in was a nightmare - the line to check-in stretched across the lobby. In room WiFi did not work. Limited towels and robes.

We arrived early (8:00 AM) checked our luggage with the Bell Man and then went to explore the City. I received a text when our room was ready and had an easy check in. At the end of our stay, they held our luggage on the last day until we needed to head out to the airport. Great hotel near Millennium Park and the Navy Pier.

I have read that the property was recently renovated, and the overall condition reflects this. But the bathroom floor in my room looked dirty, with spots of who knows what on it. The in-room phone message light was constantly flashing, causing me some concern that I had a message, although when I called the operator, there was no message for me. Also, beware of "incidental" charges. 6 cups of in-room expresso made on the provided machine cost ne $88!
