Hilton undertook an amazing restoration and reuse of this 1920s insurance company building overlooking the Chicago River. Sadly, the rooms anre elegant but very dark, lots of black and deep browns on the walls and furnishings. Our corner room was so dark that we resorted to the flashlight to see to read the hotel policy. Despite extensive reworking of the building the rooms are small and not comfortable. The elevators are a nightmare and you need a high IQ just to figure out how they work. This is a very elegant hotel but not worth the discomfort of staying here. Also, checkout after 12 is $50 an hour. Beware if you checkout at 12:15 it is another $50.00.

During our recent stay at LondonHouse by Curio in Chicago, we were absolutely blown away by the impeccable service and luxurious experience. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the hotel staff were dedicated to ensuring we had the most enjoyable and stress-free stay possible. A special shout-out goes to Mary, the concierge, whose recommendations for dining and entertainment were nothing short of spectacular. She has an incredible knowledge of Chicago's best restaurants and hidden gems, guiding us to unforgettable meals and must-see local spots. Her attention to detail and ability to personalize recommendations made our trip truly unique and memorable. We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to George, the bellhop, for his outstanding assistance with our transportation needs. From expertly arranging our airport transfers to providing helpful tips on navigating the city, George’s warmth and professionalism made traveling a breeze. His dedication to making our stay comfortable and convenient was truly above and beyond. LondonHouse by Curio is an exceptional property, but it’s the staff like Mary and George who elevate it to a whole new level. We can’t wait to return!

It was great! The only annoying part was the room was not ready at check-in time, and was over an hour late. Overall, comfortable and extra plus for still having room service.

Rooms are spacious, we opted for a vista room which is definitely worth it for the view of the river. We had dinner on the rooftop one evening (bookings are recommended however hotel guests have priority so make sure you let the person on the door know that you are a hotel guest if you’re a walk in) Location is in close proximity to magnificent mile and near a bus stop / train station for going further afield. On the ground floor there is a corner bakery / smash burger along with the another of the hotel restaurants which come in handy if the weather is bad! Only complaint was there was a nespresso maker in the room and a couple of capsules, however these were not replenished and there was no milk or sugar in the room if you wanted to make a coffee
