Wonderful older property. Smaller lift, it is only able to accommodate 5 people. The room was clean and well maintained but musty smelling. First impressions of the lobby was that it was small, but then there are other rooms beyond the front entrance. Very convenient for shopping and exploring the city with a metro station a few blocks away. Our room was on the 17th floor and relatively quiet.

Mostly comfortable but cold at night
It was cold in Chicago over Thanksgiving. The room temperature was set at 72 - 75, but the temperature in the room crept down to the mid 60’s. An xtra blanket would have been helpful. The water pressure and temperature in the tub was fine, but the shower head reduced the water pressure — I would suggest replacing the older shower heads.

For being a hotel in the magnificent mile, it sure lack a lot. It is too old, bathroom light was not working, cleaning service is nonexistent, AC is too noisy, had to switch room to another room which AC did not work properly. The only good thing was the hotel location. Never staying there!!

What Can I Say!
Used my charge card twice for something that was never on the final bill… 1) $1.44 ( what’s up with that ), 2) $107.00 ( cdn so about $60 USD … what was that for? ) Also if you say the total cost is this and they charge you that… makes you wonder, why go through Hotels.com. Also… no room service… four days and never a bed made, nor another micro bottle of shampoo, conditioner, etc… Will never return to this hotel! However, the fastest elevators ever!

My daughter and I come into the city 4-5 times a year for Bulls games. We ALWAYS stay at the Whitehall. We are familiar with the area, parking is easy in the ramp and the front desk is always helpful and kind. We love staying there.

Good hotel in Chicago
Hotel location was good and the room was big and comfortable. The hotel is a bit dated and we had problem with the water pressure in the washroom. The building has a good potential if only they spruce it up some more.
