Besides the sofa cushions that have old stains, the bed, bathroom and kitchen are clean and neat. Love the attentive services by the staff. The morning buffet was crowded as the seating space is limited, gotta share tables. The buffet has a good spread of local and western. However the hygiene level can be improved. Examples, the buffet food are not covered, when ordering the noodles to the chef behind the counter, we are literally talking over the dishes at the counter. The dining place is warm as the sun shines right into it, fans were placed around and tends to blow used serviettes and food crumbles over the table onto the floor.

The hotel on the shore front offers beautiful Neon night view of the city. Proximity to the old city and other tourist attractions. Staff of the hotel helpful and the breakfast included gave us a good start of the day. Good value.

Lovely place but hard to get cab
The apartment is great, so comfortable like home. The staff are so friendly and helpful although it’s hard to communicate as most staff English are not so great. The only prb I have is it’s hard to get a cab back to the hotel as a lot of the cabs said that they do not know the hotel and refused to take us.

I like Somerset Hotels
I regularly stay in the Somerset Chengdu and I came to Chongqing this year for the Lantern Festival. Somerset Yangtze River Chongqing did not disappoint. The rooms are a very high standard and the breakfast was excellent. I will definitely stay here again next time that I come to Chongqing.

The hotel is very clean with many amenities. It is located beside the Yangtze River so you can take a walk along the river any time. Convenient access to the 解放碑 central area where you can taste Chongqing just at one place. Remember to use the elevator!

Value-for-money hotel in Chongqing
Property location is excellent: situate right in front of Yangtze River and is within approx. 15 mins walking distance from all major attractions. Also, front desk staffs are very friendly and helpful too. The only minor complaint I had was that there were some unpleasant order in the room on my first night accommodation, but than the smell went away on the 2nd day. All in all, it's a value-for-money hotel in Chongqing.

Nice property saddened by poor management
The property itself is very pleasant. Well done Somerset. HOWEVER, the management is substandard - actually surprised me in a negative way on how Somerset could find itself fine with the local management team. Understand that it was during the Chinese National holiday but that was no excuse for how they underprepared breakfast. All food gone by 8:30, not to mention that the servers were rude and refused to let us get seated in the restaurant. We had to bring our noodles to the lobby and was kicked back into the restaurant without a proper table prepared. Staff were unprofessional - gym was supposed to open by 7 but the steam room was not operating until we entered. Bad experience overall.
