North Georgia Mountains Near Soque River & Lake Burton

Nestled along scenic Highway 197 N, this Cabin offers a great getaway! This Cabin has been decorated with custom-built furniture, custom painted artwork by Georgia artists, and many pieces from the unique nearby Black Bear Creek Antiques store, located on Highway 76 West outside of Clayton, Ga. Not withstanding the antique touches, the cabin has all the modern conveniences.

The Cabin has a HUGE stacked stone fireplace, all hardwood floors, and vaulted tongue and groove ceilings. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything the gourmet chef will need to prepare meals. The cabin has two queen size beds in the bedrooms and a daybed that makes into a king size in the loft. All linens are supplied.

Located 3 miles from the world class trout fishing enterprise Brigadoon, and minutes from the spring fed Soque (so-kwee) River, which tumbles through the Appalachian foothills, this stretch of winding highway is one of the most magnificent pastoral drives in North Georgia.

The cabin is on a one acre wooded lot, private, but not isolated; just minutes from Lake Burton, where you can rent a boat, spend the day on the lake, and come home and fire up the grill for dinner on the deck. The location is great if you want to get out and enjoy the North Georgia Mountains. The Appalachian Trail is 20 minutes away, Helen is 14, and picturesque Lake Burton is a beautiful 5 mile drive to the north.

Wonderful fall trip
We had a great time for a week in the mountains. It was great weather even with the overcast and some days of drizzle. Always enjoy staying here. Great location to visit Clarksville, Dahlonega, Clayton, and just about anywhere really in the Northeast Georgia area. Communication with the host is always quick and she's always helpful if you have any questions or concerns..

Perfect in every way.
The cabin is adorable. It's even bigger than it looks, and is perfectly tucked away to feel private, yet close enough to anything you need. The owner was very kind and quick to respond. I have already wholeheartedly recommended this rental to friends and family.

Exactly what I needed!
Came up for a long weekend, and because of the hurricane, ended up extending my visit a couple more days. The owner was extremely accommodating, very kind, and the cabin was perfection. A little bigger than I expected, which was a nice surprise. Secluded, but close enough to anything you need. I have already recommended this place to friends and family.

Lovely Cabin Perfectly Placed
I’ve spent many a regretful night in subpar vacation rentals, so I'm always a bit afraid when I book a new spot. But we were dying for a change of scenery and I took a chance. To our appreciative relief, Carol’s cabin is spotless, serene, and remote enough to feel like you're nowhere near Atlanta (or any other bustling, noisy city). My two children (ages 10 and 13), enjoyed the cabin experience, and my husband and I were thrilled to hear them laughing together and playing a real game - one without a screen. We covered a lot of ground during the day, snagging mementos from the pottery shop with the trout, the peanut guy, the historic corner store with the nickelodeon player (buy the cheese, crackers, and a bottle of cider), the Foxfire museum, and a scenic drive down the gorge road to Highlands, NC, along with some other places with T-shirts for sale. This cabin makes it easy to get to a lot of different spots, depending on your interests. We had zero issues and I need to emphasize how clean and orderly this rental is for anyone somewhat germaphobic like me. Oh, and another bonus - you’ll likely spot some deer or a coyote and the morning birdsong is the best music. Enjoy!

Perfect Location
We had a wonderful stay! Cabin is nice, furniture is comfortable, and it was clean. There were only 2 of us, but there was plenty of space for a bigger family. Lots to do in the area. Short drive to Helen. We brought out kayaks and headed over to Lake Burton. Also very close to Sunburst Adventures where we rode ATVs. We found several new favorite restaurants in Clarksville. We will definitely be back!

A great mountain getaway
Our third stay and was as great as always. The cabin is a perfect place to relax and unwind. There is so much to do within an hours drive that you could spend a month there and never see everything. My favorite part of the day is coffee on the porch and just enjoying the sounds of all the birds. Highly recommended.
