Little corner of paradise with large wooded garden for nature lovers

ATTACHED HOUSE on 2 levels, 1 room, kitchen, bathroom, swimming pool shared with the owners. Internet via optical fiber.

At an altitude of 850 meters, at the heart of Andalusia in the countryside, is set in a green park area which extends over 1,7 hectares and is tastefully planted with exotic trees and flowers.

Thanks to its altitud, the temperature stay nice even in full summertime, with 5 degrees celsius under the coastal temperature.

Adjoining to Casa Christa, Casita Elisa opens onto a shady terrace with a barbecue, and close to the pool which is accessed by a paved path, winding between bushes of lavender, oleander and yuccas.Casita Elisa is set on two levels and offers intimacy and tranquillity in its beautiful surroundings. Although situated on a SLOPING GROUND, its staircases and fitted-out paths make for easy access. You can take advantage of its swimming pool, SHARED with the owners Christa and Pascal, its numerous shady terraces and its petanque field. In the various hidden recesses of its park you will discover places ideal for meditation. You can relax by listening to the sounds of the many birds and the tinkling of the bells on the neighboring goats herds.

It is close to the villages of Alfarnate and Alfarnatejo and has extensive views across the mountains of Malaga, right down to the sea. Situated just 50 km from the old town of Malaga and the international airport, it is the ideal base for nature lovers, sportsmen, walkers and climbers and for enthusiasts who wish to explore the cultural and architectural treasures of Andalusia.

Ideally situated in the center of Andalusia, you will find in the immediate neighborhood, Archidona, Antequera and Málaga. Other cities within easy reach include Grenada, Ronda, Córdoba, Jaen, Seville, and Cadiz, as well as the spectacular Sierra Nevada mountains, all served by good roads and motorways.

For walkers and hikers there are numerous routes in the region, some on the periphery of the property.

For climbers there are climbing’s cliffs, the closest being less than 10 kms distant near Alfarnate, and the world-famous site of El Chorro is just 65 kms away.

For those who prefer the sea it is less than 45 kms, with a choice of sandy beaches to the west of Málaga and those wilder and more rocky beaches which offer excellent diving and sub aqua possibilities, east of Velez-Málaga.

The roads of our region are ideal for cycling excursions and you may bring your own bicycle or rent one from a number of providers locally.

The moments spent in this paradise will leave you with unforgettable memories.

And with our water coming straight from the mountains, solar hot water, all low wattage lighting, we try to have as little impact on our environment as possible.

If you want to visit the Alhambra in Granada and/or do the Caminito del Rey, we recommend that you make a reservation well in advance.

A little haven of peace
From arrival to departure we really enjoyed our very tranquil stay at this wonderful property. We had everything we needed and we only went out once preferring to enjoy the extensive gardens and the burgeoning friendship with Pascal & Christa who could not have been better hosts. If your looking for something away from the tourist traps where you can relax, relax and relax a bit more then book some time here.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Christa and Pascals Holiday Villa, they are the perfect friendly Hosts. It is extremely comfy, spotlessly clean and welcoming. So peaceful, hearing the birds and stargazing. Excellent base for travelling around, with breathtaking views. Thank you both so much for making our holiday very enjoyable.

Wonderful Casa and Gardens in the Mountains of Southern Andalucia
We spent a wonderful week at Casa Christa and enjoyed this lovely setting tremendously! We stayed in Casita Elisa which was very comfortable and well equipped, and had a great private terrace and pool. Christa and Pascal were amazing hosts and made us feel very welcome. We look forward to returning to this paradise in the mountains.

Enchanting
We had a wonderfully relaxing week here, managing to switch off totally. As so many guests have said, Christa and Pascal were perfect hosts being attentive and friendly, in fact totally charming, but ensuring that we had total privacy. Yes, the casita is attached, but we weren’t aware of the owners at all and were very happy playing our music and getting on with winding down! The casita is small, but we found it had what we needed for the stay and has a surprisingly well equipped kitchen. And as people have commented, the bed/twin mattresses are sturdy and very comfortable. The gardens are stunning along with the views and the local area is so picturesque, being an area of outstanding natural beauty. I particularly enjoyed the local people who were extremely friendly and welcoming (albeit the local towns are very quiet and you need to pick your times to shop!) We had excellent sea bass from the local fishmonger which we barbecued one evening. We were fortunate enough to be staying when Christa had a exhibition of her work on nearby, along with an evening of food and flamenco dancing at a venue that was as exquisite as surprising. Fortunately Christa had told us about the event and it was certainly an evening not to forget! We highly recommend this casita, off the beaten track, in a beautiful protected area, yet only an hour away from the bustle of the coast and beaches. And we hope to return again, now we have stumbled across this little jewel.

Unspoilt corner of Andalucia
Alex and and I had a lovely, relaxing stay at this beautifully located property high in the mountains above Malaga. The owners, Christa and Pascal, live on the site and could not have been better hosts. When we couldn't find the property on arrival day they went out of their way to offer guidance. We were welcomed with everything tired and hot travellers could want. Wine, beer and other treats were waiting. (As an aside, I would strongly advise visitors arriving on a Saturday to bring some provision as finding open shops on Saturday afternoon isn't too easy. Once you get to know the area, this isn't a problem. The property is wholly self contained and is well stocked in the kitchen and bathroom areas. We had extensive grounds to ourselves with a choice of places to eat and drink in the evenings. The gardens are well maintained and proffer much needed shade during the heat of the day. The alternative method of cooling off is a clean and compact swimming pool. Pascal always asks before covering it overnight. The area is what we call in Britain one of outstanding natural beauty. The mountains change hue as the sun moves from dawn till dusk. Evening in the garden here is guaranteed to relieve the stress of anyone seeking a relaxed spot for a late bottle of Fino. Internally, the property is tastefully decorated with some of Christa's own impressive photographs and artwork so if you want to relax indoors that is a real bonus. There are small supermarkets within ten or fifteen minutes drive and a restaurant at nearby Alfarnnatejo which serves hearty Andalucian mountain food on a balcony with stunning views. Seville, Granada , Malaga and Cordoba are easily reachable for days at a leisurely driving pace. All in all, this is a secluded, beautiful location with attentive, kind hosts who let you enjoy your stay undisturbed unless you need any help in which case they are always there, very happy to do anything in their power. As a final point I would only have one regret: that we didn't share some food and wine with our hosts earlier - we only got chatting properly when we were leaving. They are worth getting to know if you get the chance. I recommend this property unreservedly, especially for couples who enjoy the real Andalucia.

An amazing Andalusian holiday to treasure!
We booked Casita Elisa for our trip, partly from the photos, but mainly because of the 5 star reviews, & we were certainly not disappointed. The casita was clean, well-equipped & ideal for two people & we can vouch for the comfortable mattresses! The pool & beautiful grounds were a real oasis & we really appreciated being able to enjoy the tranquility of both the sunny and shady areas that the garden offered. Pétanque became an evening favourite, as did walks 'out the back' with stunning views. Christa & Pascal were such accommodating & kind hosts, always available, but never intrusive, & their suggestions for places to visit were most welcome. We came away feeling rather sad to be saying farewell to them & their lovely home, but that's definitely a sign of a happy holiday, one that we shall always have fond memories of!

The superb gardens, the wonderful pool, the incredible surroundings, the absolute comfort of the beds and the fantastically attentive hosts. We had the best time staying in Christa and Pascal's perfect little casita! The accomodation was great - so much room for two people. Excellent cooking facilities with everything you could need. The pool area was beautiful and completely private which was dreamy! Loved the patanque and ping pong as well - excellent outside areas with loads of places to eat all your meals! The area was beautiful - incredible views of the mountains! We loved every minute here and Christa and Pascal were so friendly and welcoming! We even went for dinner together on our last night! Such an inspirational couple! We will be back! Thanks again xx

Tranquil refuge
Casa Christa is a true piece of paradise in a pastoral setting. The cozy casita is adjacent to the main house but offering independence and privacy. Pascal and Christa are very welcoming hosts who enjoy sharing their corner of Andalusia with travellers. Amongst their gardens and pool and special settings throughout you will no doubt discover peaceful and healing moments. This property we experienced more as a place of retreat in nature. We spent 10 days here and enjoyed every moment. Casa Christa is located about 10 minutes from Alfarnate, surrounded by striking hills and deep valleys. You definitely need a car to access Casa Christa and all that the area has to offer. It would be wise to buy your groceries ahead especially if you have any special needs. Alfarnate does have a very small grocery store, a bakery and butcher. On Saturdays there is an outdoor market. So you can actually get a lot of necessities but not not much choice. Also there are very few places to dine out, but we are good cooks and enjoyed our meals in the lovely gardens of Casa Christa. The area offers many trails for hiking and biking, road trips with picnics. And there are plenty of towns worth a visit as a day trip. This was a great place to unwind!

We had a fantastic experience staying at this property. The surroundings are beautiful and very tranquil with wonderful gardens and terraces for enjoying alfresco meals. A fabulous place to get away from the hustle bustle of everyday life and escape to some peace and quiet with a beautiful pool to swim in. Christa and Pascal are brilliant hosts and are very understanding and charming with it. They are readily available if you need anything but otherwise happy to let you enjoy the wonderful space they provide. The accommodation is well designed and thoughtout so we didn't need much. The beds were very comfortable and the apartment well equipped. Would love to visit again. Highly recommended for those who thirst for tranquility. We really enjoyed our visit to Casita Elisa in sunny October. It’s a lovely place for a quiet getaway from city life, with a well-equipped kitchen, comfy mattresses, lovely garden and a great selection of indoor and outdoor games. An excellent place to unwind, recharge batteries and lounge by the pool set in beautifully tended gardens. Hospitality of Christa and Pascal was second to none so that we didn’t want for anything. Quiet and peaceful this little gem is nestled in the mountains and full of character. The visitors book is full of happy guest comments which we wholeheartedly agree with. Peaceful and relaxing mountain getaway
This small but immaculate and well equipped villa is ideal for two people. The gardens and pool area are stunning and we were impressed with the number of outdoor seating areas we had to choose from. The owners live next door and we found them to be delightful - providing a warm welcome, and friendly and helpful advice throughout our stay without being intrusive. The nearest village is about 2-3 kilometres away - a bit more than easy walking distance for a night out but everything needed for our stay could be purchased there. I would thoroughly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing getaway.

A quiet and peaceful retreat in the countryside
This little one-bedroom property was perfect for spending a quiet week. The grounds and gardens are peaceful and attractive and a haven for turtle doves and other birds. They are laid out into several different areas offering a variety of places to relax be it in one of the shady seating areas, in a hammock, or in a sun lounger by the pool. There is even a table tennis table and a petanque rink. Christa and Pascal are very helpful and friendly. There are two pretty local villages nearby and larger towns such as Granada or Malaga are within reach by car. I would thoroughly recommend.

A paradise awaits
If you have an idyllic dream to escape the rat-race and go to where the sun shines and you can laze around overlooking pristine landscapes of olive trees and farmlands, then this is definitely for you. Our stay at Casa Elisa was brilliant. From the moment we arrived and received such a warm welcome from Pascal and Christa, the owners, to the moment we sadly had to say goodbye to them 22 days later, it was sheer heaven. The owners go out of their way to ensure your stay is comfortable and they are extremely aware that your privacy throughout the stay is ensured. They are very helpful with any information and go the extra mile for their visitors. The accommodation is wonderful with all the amenities necessary for a very comfortable stay. The kitchen is fully equipped for anyone who enjoys to cook, and there are many extras which one does not expect. The bedroom has very comfortable beds and the entire Casita is extremely tastefully decorated. The Casita is newly appointed and very well cared for. The private outdoor areas, of which there are many, have the most beautiful views across the hilly, pastoral landscapes of this lovely part of Southern Spain. The sound of horses and the bells of goats makes for an extremely peaceful escape from the madding crowds of modern-day life. The Casita boasts fabulous gardens and a sparkling pool, and even a 600 metre walk in the bush around the property. There is also access to the farm roads that lead to the nearest village, providing a quiet strolling opportunity without any traffic at all. The Casita is so well positioned, in that it is almost equidistant from Malaga, Granada, Ronda, Seville and Cordoba. This makes day trips to these centres (and all the places in between) very easy, with the added attraction that you can return to the peaceful haven of your own “home” in the countryside, in the evening. What an absolute pleasure! We certainly were living our dream by staying at Casita Elisa. It makes you want to leave your old life behind, and move there. We could not have wished for a better place to spend a holiday, and with such caring hosts. It exceeded all our expectations and is very highly recommended.

A Truly Enchanting Place, Beyond All Expectations. Perfect in Every Way
Christa and Pascal have created one of the most magical places we have ever stayed in. To begin with, on driving towards Alfarnatejo we were met with a spectacular landscape of undulating olive groves and craggy mountains. It looked as if it had been carved by an artist's hand. Every twist and turn of the road was breathtaking. Thankfully, considering the location, the roads are brilliant; sign posted and well lit. Lots and lots to explore, especially if you're an adventurous climber or hiker. This is the stuff of childhood dreams with a rugged landscape of rocky hills, big boulders just begging to be explored. On arrival we were equally enthralled with the beautiful and well maintained landscaped gardens and patio spaces. An abundance of trees, plants adorned the nooks and crannies where you could sit and contemplate the views. There are various terraces including a place to play table tennis, a hammock, barbecue area, outdoor dining with lanterns etc. All very well thought out for their guests. The pool is fabulous, with views over the hills, it is kept pristine and covered at night. The surrounding pool terrace has full sun or shade if you like under the oak tree. Inside is immaculate. Small but big enough for two and easy to manoeuvre around. Our hosts immediately made us feel very welcome and went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant and unique as they could. We had a welcome note and a bottle of good wine. Cupboards stocked with spices and every utensil. Towels for both the pool and shower that had been folded into swans! Lovely touches. Bedroom was lovely and the decor was tasteful and all spotlessly clean. A very high standard of decoration. All windows have mosquito grills including the main door which meant we were not bitten and had no flies to deal with when cooking. Christa's artist's touch is evident everywhere, which is particularly thrilling and lifts the space to another dimension. Pascale waters the plants daily and covers the pool at night, however they are respectful of your space and with the exception of them using the pool for an hour once a day, leave you to your own devices. We, however, made new friends and spent some time in their company sharing food and interesting stories. They are a wonderful couple who have and are still living an adventurous life. We were very privileged to have met them and have fallen in love with them and Alfarnatejo.

An Amazing Hideaway
At the end of a country lane we reached the gate to Casa Christa and pressed the call button. Pascals' happy welcoming voice on the intercom was the prelude to a wonderful 5 nights in this little paradise called Casita Elisa, too short a stay by far! The accommodation was perfect for us and we could not have wanted for a better host and hostess who made absolutely sure we had everything we needed whilst, at the same time, respecting our privacy and space. Christa and Pascal were there with help and advice, and it was lovely to hear their stories of Spain and their travels around the world. There are so many wonderful spaces to be enjoyed around Casita Elisa, for those lazy periods or the moments when you are feeling a little more energetic. Gently swaying in the hammock to the sound of the birds and the distant goat bells, cooling off in the swimming pool or seeking revenge on the table tennis table! The village is a short drive away and we enjoyed the market and the local activities, including helping to make a giant paella! Granada is an 80 minute drive and the Alhambra Palace is a must. We took Pascals' advice and booked a 90 minute guided tour, fascinating! If you want to dip your toes in the Med' the coast is just a 50 minute drive. This was the perfect place for us to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and we shall be returning as soon as possible.

A bientôt! Alexander y Oliver
