The setting is beautiful with easy access to the beach and ocean views. The person managing the morning breakfast set-up was amazing, very friendly and helpful. The public areas were neat and clean but the ice machine on our floor was out of order, and so was the hotel's hot tub. After looking at other reviews, apparently that has been the case for several months. We were traveling with another couple and at check-in asked if we could be assigned rooms on the same floor, but we were told that rooms were already assigned and couldn't be changed because we had booked the room through a third party. We were told if we had booked directly with the hotel, they could have changed the rooms, which makes no sense, but that was the only explanation we were given. The room was large and comfortable, but there were housekeeping and maintenance issues, such as burnt-out lightbulbs, and the ceiling fan was filthy. If you like soft, clean towels, this is absolutely not the hotel for you. The towels were horrible. They were small, dingy, and as rough as sandpaper. We won't stay at this hotel in the future because of the attitude at check-in regarding booking the room through Experian.
