I don’t typically review properties but this hotel was the single bad part about my otherwise wonderful Copenhagen trip.
Firstly, this is definitely not a 4 star hotel, so if that is what you are expecting, I suggest you lower your standards.
I found all of the people I came across in Copenhagen friendly and polite, apart from the staff at the square. There was a concert across the street for pride which was great to see, but the sound proofing in this hotel was so poor that even with white noise and earplugs, the noise level still shook the room. When I spoke to the desk staff, they gave a “this is city centre, what did you expect” type of response. I’ve stayed in central hotels all over the world, from central Tokyo to Times Square New York, and have never experienced such poor sound proofing. Reading other reviews, I can see this is a frequent complaint.
Additionally, I enquired if I could check out just 1 hour later, to which the front desk agreed for a fee of 100kr. As I was attempting to nap due to getting poor sleep due to the noise, I had housekeeping just walk in my room THREE separate times between 11:50 and 12:30. They didn’t so much as knock. At this point I gave up, checked out, and headed to the airport early.
Copenhagen is a wonderful city, with kind and friendly people. I’d really recommend visiting, while also ensuring you stay elsewhere
