Cozy cottage along the beautiful Mitchell River

If you enjoy the outdoors, the sounds of the river flowing, and watching wildlife you will love staying at our cozy cottage. You can take a stroll along or go fishing at the river. There is a1so a firepit that you can relax by. Inside the cottage is everything you will need to be comfortable. As you watch TV or read a good book, you can turn on the gas logs in the fireplace. There are conveniences such as high speed internet and a smart TV. If you want to cook there is a full kitchen with dishes, utensils, and appliances. You will have a great view of the river from every room.
Occasionally, we do have baptisms at the river. We will let you know ahead if there is one scheduled.
It is located within 10 minutes from downtown Elkin, 15 minutes from Dobson, and 30 minutes from Mt Airy. We are close to many vineyards. If you enjoy hiking or beautiful views we are close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Stone Mountain State park, and Pilot Mountain.

Cody weekend retreat
Great quick communication with host Clean Well stocked Short drive to scenic overlook. Beautiful country in fall Less than 30 minute drive to Mt. Airy Personally I'm a big and tall guy, shower doors made it a bit snug, otherwise great amenities. Would highly recommend to friends and family.

Cozy Cottage
The cottage is all that we had hoped for and more. It’s beautiful and clean and as stated, cozy. The river and ponds were an added bonus. It was so peaceful and relaxing. It felt like we were in a different world. We hated for the week to end. The owners were very kind and assisted when needed. We couldn’t have asked for a better week.

Exceeded Our Expectations
We cannot say enough good about this property and the hosts. The house was very clean and boasted plenty of space for our needs. It was even better than their description on the Vrbo site. The bed was very comfortable, and we had plenty of cooking and dining space. The bathroom was also larger than we anticipated in a smaller cottage. We were truly amazed at the size of the yard and the amenities that were included. I thoroughly enjoyed practicing my fly casting at the two small ponds and later, wading and fly fishing the nearly half mile expanse of the Mitchell River behind the house. I caught a dozen fish, and my wife took several pics. My wife also swam in the swimming area on the river, and we lazed in the shade in the zero-gravity chairs in the evening. Also available was a lighted sitting area next to the river with a fire pit, picnic table, and horseshoe pits. We also witnessed a small paddle boat on the first pond. Although we declined, our hosts offered us tubes to float the river. On our first morning, we discovered that the Keurig was not working; however, within less than an hour, the hosts picked up the non-functional unit, and dropped off a brand new Keurig still in the box. Junior and Joyce are outstanding and hospitable hosts. We cannot wait to return in October!

Such a restful time. The cottage was not only beautiful it has everything you could possibly need for comfort and functionality. We also loved the mix of vintage and new. Truly a unique and quaint aesthetic. In addition, the view from the bay window was stunning. We even saw chubby woodchuck hanging out in the backyard. Sincerely a special place. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful location in close proximity to local wineries, Stone Mountain and Pilot Mountain State Parks. The property affords privacy and access to the Mitchell River. The owner maintains the property very well and is readily available to address any questions.

Joyce's cottage is the perfect place to relax and breathe deep. The setting is so beautiful and peaceful with the river running through the back of the property. I also noticed several different types of birds and wildlife. If you're looking for a quiet getaway, this is the place for you.

Perfect Mountain Cottage
This cottage was the perfect gettaway for two!! We were in the area for a wedding and stayed here and it was perfect. Just what my husband and I needed. This is a fantastic little cottage on a gorgeous property! The cottage was very clean and had all of the basic necessities. This property is located nearby to multiple vineyards and small towns, yet it feels very secluded and quiet! I would definitely recommend visiting!

Nice place great location
Well thought out setup for small cottage. Close enough to the local attractions but not in town. While we got out a did the tourist thing, you could easily stay right there with fishihng in the river or swimming in it and nice fire pit. The cottage itself is setup well for a small place very cozy for 2 people. The only draw back is the secuirty light shining in the window. I liked to had heavy curtain or something to block it out at night.

This place was the cleanest I have ever rented. It is cozy. The kitchen had everything you could need. So clean! So Peaceful! I was there alone to spend time with God. It was the perfect place! The surrounding area is so nice too.
