A hidden gem - we have been going to Crickhowell to see family for many years but did not know there was accommodation at the Dragon until it popped up on Hotels.com. Marvellous food, spacious suit of rooms, wonderful. We will come back and will recommend to all.
Tucked away down the end of a row of shops and pubs, the dragon and its staff have plenty of charm. We had a small but very cosy and comfortable room up in the roof. Very quiet and a lovely stay. Food is great, especially the chicken and mash - the perfect comfort food.
Really lovely pub, good room, great food and lovely service from all the staff! Only slight negative is the very tight entrance to the car park. There is road parking outside though if you have a wide vehicle! Overall a great stay
Staff were really friendly and very accomodating. Whole place had a lovely atmosphere and food was excellent. On site
parking excellent but narrow entrance.
Lovely beer garden and courtyard, all beautifully planted.
Room well decorated , in room hot drinks and biscuits and quality soaps etc.
Good location within Crickhowell.
Popular pub with rooms in the centre of the attractive snall town. Free parking out back - take care with narrow entrance. Very nice garden area. Room was compact but confortable. Complimentary tea tray and decent toiletries. Good breakfast menu.
Friendly service.
We also ate dinner here and food was good and well priced.. Booking ahead is recommended as was pretty busy.
This is a pub with rooms. So not surprisingly it was a bit noisy and we had to have the window open as too hot in room so that didn’t help with the noise level. Nothing anyone can do about this though!
We had dinner there and the food was very good. Breakfast the next morning was a bit of a let down. I had pancakes with yogurt and fruit, unfortunately they were served cold so not very nice!
The coffee was also tepid and there was only one croissant out. A bit of a let down.
A really pleasant market town hotel. We stay here about 3 times a year and always enjoy our stay. I fish the river Usk for trout and salmon so the hotel is ideally located. The only disappointment is the menu and the accompanying pop music.
Entrance to parking was very narrow and had to be careful not to scrape the wall. Room was fine, but small for the money paid. Breakfast did not start serving until 8am, so as I had leave for work at 07.30, so this was no good for me. Food was average and overpriced. I consider £8 for five rings of squid a rip off. The fish and chips was nothing special, with a small piece of skin on and slightly slimy cod and the smallest pot of mushy peas you’ve ever seen.
